Regarding this sick cruise ship Zandaam.

One of those Abbot quick test should be sent and each passenger tested. Let the ones free of Covid off.

Then start working on taking care of the sick.

But damn we have incompetent people running the show. It is a disgrace.

Cruise ships are environmental horror shows. Sink them for reefs or refit them, permanently station them, and turn them into ecological centers devoted to Ocean health. Don’t give the industry a nickel, but support their employees like everyone else out of work.

Healthy passengers will be directly transported to the airport for chartered flights home to other countries. Sick will remain and their condition evaluated.

The people behind these cruel decisions should face criminal charges.

There are days when it is very difficult to accept and process just how awful and evil some people are.

Very hard to accept it and I guess that’s why they keep doing these evil things. Eventually they will prove that which we cannot accept. That’s when reality hits.

The people on there should be taken off and quarantined. The sick ones treated. Everyone tested. Then they need to clean that hulk and send it back to where it is flagged. We should ban cruise ships from our harbors.

That means if you test negative you may still have the virus.
Only way to be sure is quarantine for 2 weeks, when >99% of those infected will have shown symptoms.

Please don't read this as agreement with current policy, I believe they should be let off and provided somewhere to quarantine off ship.

And I temper my irritation by noting that the ship wanted to put into port in Chile.

Then it passed Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, Panama, Jamaica, Cuba.

Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Guatemala, Venezuela and Mexico had closer ports.

Lots of countries said "nope, can't stop here, keep on going." And the longer it went, the greater the chance of increased infection and more deaths. And while it's handy to look at the current state of affairs, this started on 3/9 or 3/10, weeks ago.

Trump doesn't want to test, it will drive the numbers up and make him look bad. He just wants people to get better or die without having been tested. This policy of his will end up causing a much longer and much more deadly situation.

A hard rain's a comin.

I think this response is by design.

Look at the announcement of the USS comfort, trump announce he is sending it to NYC on March 18th. We find out it is in the shipyard for repairs on the 19.

trump states on Thursday March 26th it will get there sooner than expected.

He makes a big show of it leaving Norfolk on Saturday the 28th. Now here is the kicker. Even though it shouldn't take more than 18 hours for the trip, it docks in NYC on the Monday the 30th, 2 days later.

He dangled the relief for almost 2 weeks to a city that is desperate for action.

That is by design. Cuomo wasn't nice enough to him, so he tormented him for 10 days the the USS Comfort is on its way. The check is in the mail.

from the Navy. They all think they can skim a paragraph and get up to speed. Trump doesn't even need to read, his gut is a stable genius.
