the power that the hateful bible thumpers are having on our nation........

Another thing to look at for a perspective, is how each religious group feels about ALL OTHER religions.

I love asking a Lutheran for example, how they view the catholics or jewish.......

I would also add that professionals are ignored and "gut feelings" are accepted. Lies are accepted as normal. Ignorance is celebrated and education is maligned. Churches have become political country clubs and self professed Christians are the most mean spirited people in our society. Military heroes are fired and draft dodgers command the armed services.

We have gone down the rabbit hole of insatiable greed to an upside down world.

I am a veteran who was proud to serve, but the America I loved has gone; we have to find a way to retrieve it.

Time after time I sit and I wait for your call
I know I'm a fool but why can I say
Whatever the price I'll pay for you,
Madame Blue
Once long ago, a word from your lips and the world turned around
But somehow you've changed, you're so far away
I long for the past and dream of the days with you
,
Madame Blue

Suite Madame Blue, gaze in your looking glass
You're not a child anymore
Suite Madame Blue, the future is all but past
Dressed in your jewels, you made your own rules
You conquered the world and more, heaven's door

Oh

America, America, America, America
America, America, America, America
America, America, America, America
America, America, America, America
America, America, America, America
America, America, America, America

Red white and blue, gaze in your looking glass
You're not a child anymore
Red, white, and blue, the future is all but past
So lift up your heart, make a new start
And lead us away from here

What I said last night.
"They are breakers and they are breaking us. It wasn't Dump who did this. It was the normal right wing friend, co-worker and acquaintance that did this. They gave him his power and now he is using that to show how the government, our government is useless. To prove that point he is willing to let tens of thousands if not hundreds of thousands or even millions die. That is what our right wing normal person will even say when this is over. Its proof for them that the government cant save us only private companies can. For a price of course. The fact that that price is easier to pay for those that have held power for so long, those that want to amend the "we" is not a coincidence. Its the point. Its far past the time for us to realize that they are breakers and to act accordingly." https://democraticunderground.com/100213239970

... you cannot escape responsibility in a democracy. It's impossible. Non-votes are just as responsible for election results as are votes. A non-vote is like a "passive" vote, but it pulls a lever just as surely as does a vote.

with about 36% of the vote in 1932. It was still Germany, it had Octoberfest, people still worked, had pets raised families, but it was all different. We've lost this country. It's still America, but it's different. We will still have the super bowl, American idol, uber wealthy, but our country is no longer a democratic America. Keep safe. Do what you can. Put up a good fight. Per Mark Twain; 'History doesn't repeat itself, but it rhymes'.

Mon Apr 6, 2020, 09:33 PM

Christian zealots and libertarian "philosophy" have made the U.S. ungovernable.

When Republicans are in charge, they cater to the crazy exemplified by Christianists and libertarians to the point where they make the government bankrupt, weak, ineffectual and corrupt.

When Democrats are in charge, the aforementioned groups pitch such a fit that little of consequence can happen. Something as middle-of-the-road as Obamacare becomes some sign of "tyranny" to them, and they entrench themselves further into their nutty fantasy worlds of Christian republics and anarchy.

We are ungovernable, and it makes me sad.
