I don't have a great graphical illustration like this, but one can do the same comparison bullwinkle428 Apr 2020 #4

for Iowa vs. Minnesota. Minnesota has a Democratic governor that issued a stay at home order a couple of weeks ago, and our ignorant Republican claimed she knew more about projected cases than Fauci (I'm actually not joking). I live in Iowa, and have loved ones in Minnesota. Here are the points:

* Minnesota has nearly twice the population of Iowa (5.6 million vs 3.1 million)

* Minnesota got to around 400 cases early on when Iowa had around 100, but the two states are now nearly equal in total cases

* the projected total deaths will be higher in Iowa (565 vs. 456) by June 1, despite the smaller population

At all. But Tennessee has 50% higher population, which doesn't account for difference but we will never know the actual # vs the testing #. I feel like both states have under tested so are reporting low. So the gist of this is probably accurate but there is a lot of error in the measures.
