We are well beyond Orwell's 1984

trump's brute authoritarianism and his constant lies are so exhausting that most cannot mentally comprehend their scale, even as we see the immense numbers of his lies published. He knows how he is going to stay in office, offense. We are mostly playing defense. He is going to stop testing, and we're going to let him.

But if i remember he (George) went on and on about how society had always been like that and that all efforts to change it had been futile. This situation is different as its still comparatively the begginning. Also we are actively fighting and the press is still free. The Republicans have had it pretty good and are using all of the dirty tactics they can. We still have the ability to defeat them with just plain voting and even a couple of days ago saw it in the huge lines in Wisconsin. I openly cheered when i saw the elderly woman being let in the door. She is my hero! We have not had much opportunity to fight back just one mid term and we won back the house. Everything else has been unsuccessful because the Republicans have stood united with McConnell assisting. Just get up and vote in November!!!

to me that they disprove themselves. Only separation so profound that it doesn't allow understanding of what those realities would be could allow them.

And everyone should vote, even if they imagine it's totally worthless, just in case it's not.
