Rand Paul, Thomas Massie slam Kentucky Gov. Beshear over quarantine plan for Easter churchgoers

U.S. Senator Rand Paul and Rep. Thomas Massie are slamming Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear's Friday announcement that those who attend in-person church services over Easter weekend will face mandatory quarantine.

"Taking license plates at church?" Paul tweeted late Friday, along with a far-right website's article on Beshear's new action. "Quarantining someone for being Christian on Easter Sunday? Someone needs to take a step back here."

Paul, who was the first member of the Senate to confirm having COVID-19, announced earlier this week that he has recovered and is volunteering at a Bowling Green hospital.

Beshear said during his 5 p.m. news conference that law enforcement will record the license plate numbers of those attending mass gatherings of any kind, including religious services.

Like that and too true!

For those who are truly religious/devout, the faith resides within, not in stone and mortar.

Paul and Massie simply want to howl at the moon. Not to mention a very popular Governor.

Little jealousy, guys????

I doubt either Paul or Massie are true believers, anyway, just playing to their audience.

They are probably tearing their hair out over Beshear's popularity. "I though the people of Kentucky were far more stupid than that! What the hell happened?"

As for the Christian/Car comparison--that one is decades old. I wish I could take credit for it, but alas cannot.
Here are a few I CAN take credit for:

We need to grow some better “Libertarians” in this country.

Many states have police cars with license plate readers, special cameras and software, that automatically capture AND RECORDS the license plates of EVERY passing car - by the HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS! Every. Day.

And no Republican has ever said a word about that.

Is he bitching just because it is a church and a Sunday?

Not dying should be the most important thing. Nothing else matters right now. And you should be punished if you put people in jeopardy. Otherwise we'll be starting back at zero, and that's no bueno.
