The Long Island bicyclist, a 65-year-old man who only identified himself as David, told the Post he decided to file a police report to document the alleged incident in case he feels "that this guys a threat to me."
The bicyclist told the Post he's lived in East Hampton for most of his life.
David said the verbal confrontation occurred after he saw Cuomo outside on Sunday.
"I just looked and said, Is that Chris Cuomo? Isnt he supposed to be quarantined?' David said after one of the two women there approached him. "I said to him, Your brother is the coronavirus czar, and youre not even following his rules unnecessary travel.'"
"'Who the hell are you?! I can do what I want!' He just ranted, screaming, Ill find out who you are!" Cuomo responded, according to David.
"He said, This is not the end of this. Youll deal with this later. We will meet again. If thats not a threat, I dont know what is," David added.
Cuomo talked about the back-and-forth on his SiriusXM program, "Let's Get After It," on Monday while explaining that being a public figure prevents him from firing back at people talking "bullshit" to him.
"I want to be able to tell you to go to hell, to shut your mouth," Cuomo said. "I dont get that doing what I do for a living, me being able to tell you to shut your mouth or I will do you the way you guys do each other."
I dont want some jackass, loser, fat-tire biker being able to pull over and get in my space and talk bullshit to me, I dont want to hear it, he added.

Whoa, calm down Chris.

He's been through a great deal.

Seems like one of those guys with the bulging vein in his forehead & neck!
I'm still giving him a pass in this case. Not that it matters how I feel.

(51,308 posts)What I really dont get is the article says he was with two women and some children. I mean, wtf?
So those people can now infect others. You just know if they drove out to look at their property that they stopped on the way back to pick up lunch or groceries or something. So one of the women goes into a store...

(18,770 posts)...so I'm not sure he's still supposed to be in quarantine (unless he's still testing positive).
That said, Joe Concha is a RW tool and "The Hill" has a record of publishing disinfo and outright lies (I never use them as a source anymore because of it).
And Chris's sentiments are spot on - he has a right when some Long Island RW loon gets in his face to tell them to fuck off.

(11,996 posts)He has not had more than 60 hrs without a fever - IOW - still has symptoms. AND IS NOT CLEARED to be out of quarantine - NOR HIS FAMILY. They should be quarantined for up to 2 weeks after NO symptoms are displayed.

(18,770 posts)Okay, so the incident happened on Sunday and he self-reported his condition on Tuesday as "still sick", basically. So, I stand corrected.
However... the article in the OP (from a RW source and known RW writer), says that people, including the complainant, walked over to HIM instead of maintaining their distance.
How the hell is that his fault if he was going out for fresh air in an area not dense with people, yet people walk up to HIM?
jmg257
(11,996 posts)what YOU want to do.
The health officials who contacted my SIL were QUITE clear about all this...and has to clear her before they could...'be released'.
Clearly there were people around - it is a neighborhood, and they had to get to it. If he was in his yard at his home - no issue.
Glad someone said something - but you're right - the cycle guy has balls!

(11,996 posts)the Orange County Department of Health (OCDOH) whether symptomatic or asymptomatic. As
of March 31, 2020, OCDOH has now issued Standing Mandatory Isolation Orders. All persons
testing positive for COVID-19 must travel directly to their home and/or remain at their home
residence and remain isolated until meeting the recovery criteria defined below. An education
information sheet on isolation is attached to the standing order. OCDOH will continue to
contact positive COVID-19 patients on mandatory isolation and release individuals from
isolation. We encourage all healthcare providers to also clear their patients if they call you...
RELEASE OF SYMPTOMATIC INDIVIDUALS ON ISOLATION
Symptomatic individuals who were confirmed as having COVID-19 may discontinue
home isolation once they meet the following conditions:
o At least 3 days (72 hours) have passed since recovery, defined as resolution of
fever without the use of fever-reducing medications; AND
o Improvement in respiratory symptoms (e.g., cough, shortness of breath); AND
o At least 7 days have passed since symptoms first appeared
Only this from the Nassau Cnty website...
STAY HOME and call (before visiting) your healthcare provider. Most people with COVID-19 have mild illness and recover at home without medical care. Do not leave your home, except to get necessary medical care.
Im going to assume that, since the 72hr fever thing is 1 thing he needed to clear, that his/family quarantine would be very similar to OCDOH.

(11,996 posts)The Cuomo family is currently living in nearby Southampton, where the anchor and host has been broadcasting from his basement while under quarantine.
On edit: This shit drives me nuts...my SIL has been in bed since 3/18 positive with C-19, and her construction husband insisted on going to sites, including their daughter's house (which is being re-done) with them and the husband's father, even though he's been sleeping with her AND sharing the space with the daughter's family who still live downstairs.
They are ALL NOT supposed to to go out AT ALL.

(82,383 posts)There may be people out there just like him, but when we see them, we don't know their status.
He could have expected something like this.
Glad he is feeling well enough, though. He maybe thinks of himself as recovering and the temptation to get out too strong. If in the yard of his house being constructed, that doesn't seem much worse than being in his current yard.
LisaL
(44,962 posts)treestar
(82,383 posts)Must be very hard within the house. I was reading about how you should deal with a household member who has it, and it sounded really tough. Especially if you can't put them in a master bedroom with their own bathroom (though I would imagine his housing contains this).
It sounded like a ton of work taking care of them and sanitizing. And you are more easily exposed.
Hope the kiddies don't get it or don't get symptoms.
LisaL
(44,962 posts)But obviously the biker dude saw him outside and on a different property, so it sure doesn't sound like he was sitting in the basement all this time.
