Hamptons bicyclist files police report after verbal confrontation with CNN's Chris Cuomo: report

...

The Long Island bicyclist, a 65-year-old man who only identified himself as David, told the Post he decided to file a police report to document the alleged incident in case he feels "that this guy’s a threat to me."

The bicyclist told the Post he's lived in East Hampton for most of his life.

David said the verbal confrontation occurred after he saw Cuomo outside on Sunday.

"I just looked and said, ‘Is that Chris Cuomo? Isn’t he supposed to be quarantined?'” David said after one of the two women there approached him. "I said to him, ‘Your brother is the coronavirus czar, and you’re not even following his rules — unnecessary travel.'"

"'Who the hell are you?! I can do what I want!' He just ranted, screaming, ‘I’ll find out who you are!’" Cuomo responded, according to David.

"He said, ‘This is not the end of this. You’ll deal with this later. We will meet again.’ If that’s not a threat, I don’t know what is," David added.

Cuomo talked about the back-and-forth on his SiriusXM program, "Let's Get After It," on Monday while explaining that being a public figure prevents him from firing back at people talking "bullshit" to him.

"I want to be able to tell you to go to hell, to shut your mouth," Cuomo said. "I don’t get that doing what I do for a living, me being able to tell you to shut your mouth or I will do you the way you guys do each other."

“I don’t want some jackass, loser, fat-tire biker being able to pull over and get in my space and talk bullshit to me, I don’t want to hear it,” he added.

What I really don’t get is the article says he was with two women and some children. I mean, wtf?

So those people can now infect others. You just know if they drove out to look at their property that they stopped on the way back to pick up lunch or groceries or something. So one of the women goes into a store...

...so I'm not sure he's still supposed to be in quarantine (unless he's still testing positive).

That said, Joe Concha is a RW tool and "The Hill" has a record of publishing disinfo and outright lies (I never use them as a source anymore because of it).

And Chris's sentiments are spot on - he has a right when some Long Island RW loon gets in his face to tell them to fuck off.

Gupta described three things doctors look for before coronavirus patients can stop isolation, including being fever-free for 72 hours, and Cuomo is still falling short.

Okay, so the incident happened on Sunday and he self-reported his condition on Tuesday as "still sick", basically. So, I stand corrected.

However... the article in the OP (from a RW source and known RW writer), says that people, including the complainant, walked over to HIM instead of maintaining their distance.

How the hell is that his fault if he was going out for fresh air in an area not dense with people, yet people walk up to HIM?

The health officials who contacted my SIL were QUITE clear about all this...and has to clear her before they could...'be released'.

Clearly there were people around - it is a neighborhood, and they had to get to it. If he was in his yard at his home - no issue.

Glad someone said something - but you're right - the cycle guy has balls!

Persons who test positive for COVID-19 are subject to a mandatory isolation order issued by
the Orange County Department of Health (OCDOH) whether symptomatic or asymptomatic. As
of March 31, 2020, OCDOH has now issued Standing Mandatory Isolation Orders. All persons
testing positive for COVID-19 must travel directly to their home and/or remain at their home
residence and remain isolated until meeting the recovery criteria defined below. An education
information sheet on isolation is attached to the standing order. OCDOH will continue to
contact positive COVID-19 patients on mandatory isolation and release individuals from
isolation.
We encourage all healthcare providers to also clear their patients if they call you...

RELEASE OF SYMPTOMATIC INDIVIDUALS ON ISOLATION
Symptomatic individuals who were confirmed as having COVID-19 may discontinue
home isolation once they meet the following conditions:
o At least 3 days (72 hours) have passed since recovery, defined as resolution of
fever without the use of fever-reducing medications; AND
o Improvement in respiratory symptoms (e.g., cough, shortness of breath); AND
o At least 7 days have passed since symptoms first appeared

Only this from the Nassau Cnty website...

What to do if you have symptoms or have been in contact with someone who has tested positive.

STAY HOME and call (before visiting) your healthcare provider. Most people with COVID-19 have mild illness and recover at home without medical care. Do not leave your home, except to get necessary medical care.

I’m going to assume that, since ‘the 72hr fever thing is 1 thing he needed to clear’, that his/family quarantine would be very similar to OCDOH.

The reported filing with the East Hampton Police Department came after Cuomo shared a story on his SiriusXM radio show on Monday about a "jackass, loser biker" who got in his "space"
because he was in the front yard with two women and three children at the home, which is still under construction. The bicyclist told the Post that Cuomo had purchased the property.

The Cuomo family is currently living in nearby Southampton, where the anchor and host has been broadcasting from his basement while under quarantine.

On edit: This shit drives me nuts...my SIL has been in bed since 3/18 positive with C-19, and her construction husband insisted on going to sites, including their daughter's house (which is being re-done) with them and the husband's father, even though he's been sleeping with her AND sharing the space with the daughter's family who still live downstairs.

They are ALL NOT supposed to to go out AT ALL.

He noted it on Tuesday :

Cuomo has been regularly airing his TV and radio shows from his family’s home in Southampton — although from the basement as he stayed quarantined from them. The anchor said on air Tuesday that he still suffers from a low-grade fever and feared that his wife is now showing signs of the virus.

Must be very hard within the house. I was reading about how you should deal with a household member who has it, and it sounded really tough. Especially if you can't put them in a master bedroom with their own bathroom (though I would imagine his housing contains this).

It sounded like a ton of work taking care of them and sanitizing. And you are more easily exposed.

Hope the kiddies don't get it or don't get symptoms.
