Trumps fear of testing will go down in history as the most insane act by any president.

At first I could understand Trumps insane fear of testing. He was afraid it would make him look bad. He was worried about the economy and tried to cover up what was happening, believing something would make the virus go away.

Now Trumps continued fear of testing has reached the point of complete madness. A madness that is murdering thousands of Americans.

History, reality is closing in on Trump. You can't bullshit history, reality forever. When it catches up to him it's going to be brutal for him and his family. It will also be brutal for his cult followers.

Unfortunately, it will also be brutal for many of the innocent, the good people of America.

Fear has nothing to do with it. It is a deliberate, evil attempt to squash the numbers in order to manipulate his ignorant Cult45 worshipers.

Trump's lizard brain senses that if people are tested, it will be clear that businesses and schools canNOT open yet. He'd rather not allow testing (which is basically what he's doing by limiting the number of tests) and open businesses and have more people die then.

Testing represents the exposure of reality it is unable to censor or modify. Testing is an existential threat to the monster and cannot be supported without destroying itself.

were better documented (even WITH Trumpland's efforts to avoid the same). There will be hundreds of thousands of emails between federal employees documenting everything everyone did or didn't do or say, what they heard and from who, what they think it means, etc.

Maybe he has enough loyalists to purge incriminating information (either through the transition of 2020 or God forbid 2024). Given what is happening with Courts and voting rights, is there a guarantee that anyone not beholden to Trump will be President anytime soon.

Sure why not?

There are any number of things this fuckwit may attempt in the next 9 months. Each of them more insane than the last.

Never underestimate how stupid and crazy he is.

I also think he resists testing because that's what Democrats, health experts, and everyone else except his cult and his sycophants says he should do. He never does what he's told to do.

He's going to have to face the reality that no business is actually going to want to reopen and no worker is going to feel safe going back to work without widespread testing or some other unforeseen developments that ensure everybody's safety. Whatever damage he's going to sustain over his handling of things is already "baked into the cake" at this point. What he *can* do now is keep things from getting worse. Right now, he and many Republicans want to just blow past the mitigation phase and more or less return to "normal" even though we:

A. Don't have effective treatments (sorry his wonder drug doesn't seem to be panning out)
B. Don't have a vaccine
C. Don't have widespread testing to know who has it, who's immune, who's fully recovered from it and unlikely to infect others

It is impossible for anybody to believe that they're safe and/or that other people are safe from them until at least one or (preferably) more of these things happens.

Moving forward without any of those things is a recipe for another tidal wave of cases and deaths to come crashing down on us and we're barely through this first wave, which has been mitigated by stay-at-home orders and social distancing.

cases as the RW nuts keep griping about being cooped up under stay at home orders (in Michigan for example). I'd say sure, go out there, infect others (your friends, family, others) because of your ignorant behavior. It will be sad, as these idiots will kill many others (or get them sick).

I'd wonder just how many people would actually listen to these nuts? I hope not many, for I suspect, being like you, many don't trust republican governments any longer (there are pockets of sanity thank god). But, people are still being idiots, going to funerals, going to church services, going to large public gatherings, despite all of the efforts to get people to stay home. And they are dying.

Rump will continue to insist that all is well and most of the republican state governors will follow like sheep (in opening up stuff). The only reason why he's doing this is that he's far more concerned about his election chances than people's health. One thing that will save us here is when has he ever told the truth? I think a big chunk of people no longer believe rump one bit.

Also, despite repeated demands from the news media at his idiotic press conferences, he continues to ignore basic ?s as to where are all of the millions of test kits that we need? Where are the antibodies test kits? Two very important things to have in localizing and isolating pockets of CV in order to stamp it out.
