Perhaps I'm being optimistic, but I sincerely hope we hear about Cult Members dropping dead after drinking Clorox.

Whole websites are devoted to saying any damn thing they feel like, the most ridiculous lies and labeling themselves "sarcasm". They also misuse "irony". To quote the dictionary:

Is sarcasm the same as irony?

Sarcasm refers to the use of words that mean the opposite of what you really want to say, especially in order to insult someone, or to show irritation, or just to be funny. For example, saying "they're really on top of things" to describe a group of people who are very disorganized is using sarcasm. Most often, sarcasm is biting, and intended to cause pain. Irony can also refer to the use of words that mean the opposite of what you really want to say; the "they're really on top of things" statement about the very disorganized group of people can also be described as an ironic statement. But irony can also refer to a situation that is strange or funny because things happen in a way that seems to be the opposite of what you expected; for example, it is ironic if someone who was raised by professional musicians but who wanted a very different kind of life then fell in love with and married a professional musician.

Because most of the examples in the lyrics aren't particularly ironic.

Now *that* is irony!

Really, it's good advice that you just didn't take? A black fly in your Chardonnay? Are those really ironic? I don't think so....

I think most people know roughly what sarcasm and irony are. They make slight, technical errors in using the terms, but they usually have a rough idea.

I think Republicans really have no idea. They just think if they make a racist statement, well, if everyone in the room laughs, it's ok. But if someone gets offended, they just say "I was being sarcastic" and then they don't have to apologize. They just think it's a get out of jail free card for them. They don't understand that it doesn't work for actual racists.

People see that behavior and they think it's OK if they do it too.

This will be a turnout election. We won’t convert many of them at all. We must look under every rock to find a Biden voter and get them out to the precinct.

By saying:

If you really believe Trump speaks the truth, then you will post a video of yourselves injecting Lysol, bleach, or sunshine into your ass or veins.

If you claim he was just being sarcastic, then why aren't you demanding his immediate resignation for still withholding the full assistance of the Federal Government to States and the American People, while making a sick and demented comedy hour out of a press briefing during an national emergency as thousands a day are dying in the United States? Only those needing locked up in a padded room would joke, instead of offering resolute leadership that resolves an immediate crisis... George Washington and Abraham Lincoln would be appalled at the disgraceful dereliction of the Presidency of the United States.

BOOM!!!! Republicans

This shit storm will never end until people call out all the bullshit being peddled by the Republican Party. Make them defend their damn positions instead of letting them pump sunshine up everyone's ass. Pun intended!

My answer is to post the Guardian article. Trump being the king of lawsuits, let’s see if he files a lawsuit against Guardian for reporting on his contact with the church cult leader pushing the ingestion of chlorine.
