General Discussion

I realize any group is made up of individuals, but we tend to lump our ideas about them into these generalities. They bring to mind certain characteristics and I realize they arent stamped out of the same mold. But I cant think of another group so large that share so much commonality.
Anyways I was thinking about them earlier today. They all seem to share the same bulllshit view that America was great, somewhere in the recent past. Many of them grew up in the time following WWII when the US so dominated the world. Our country wasnt trashed by the biggest war in human history which gave us enormous advantage. It was a special time in history and any one with a grasp of history would realize it was a temporary state of affairs that couldnt last. The kids of the WWII generation had the greatest standard of living and most opportunities in the entire world. As long as you were white of course. So theyre unprepared for the changing world.
So that brings us the the whole MAGA mentality. Its a fantasy world and they blame foreigners and non whites for the decline of preeminence. They will continue with this fantasy and dont realize american businesses have played a huge role in the american decline. There is still a lot of opportunity but they arent going to get a good job right out of high school that will ensure a pretty good life. Rather than making the effort to improve their lives many will continue to wallow in resentment.
