The lukewarm support Mrs. Clinton received is disgraceful, and we are paying for it. Every so often people do learn from experience, however. Perhaps we are seeing one such instance.

I think some of it may come from Biden being so well liked. Not too say that Hillary was hated by her peers or anything, but Biden has everyone from Bernie to Lindsey Graham either vouching for his character on the charges or stating that they think highly of him as a person. He’s got a lot of friends.

shown many times to be tinged with sexism.

I agree with you that it can be hard to sort out the largest influences, but we cannot give the “he’s better liked” thing a free pass. It has to be scrutinized carefully.

Here is one of many articles:

There is also academic research on this topic.

More well liked in general. I’m saying that everyone on Capitol Hill seems to really like Joe Biden. That’s not a knock on Hillary at all, anymore than it would be a knock on anyone else to say it seems like Biden has a lot of friends who have always gone to bat for him. Biden has always been very popular among his peers is all it means and hasn’t ruffled feathers on either side of the aisle. Both sides seem to like him personally. Likability concerns polls among citizens.

claim that Biden is better liked than Hillary Clinton.

And the fact that you seem confident that Biden is better liked in Washington (or anywhere is) is suspect, if you don’t directly work with all of those people. You also may have forgotten that Clinton won the primaries in 2016, and led almost from the start, and she was very successful in many prior jobs at building coalitions and getting things done.

The likability research I referred to has been done in many contexts outside of opinion polls and politics.

You can like Biden more than Clinton, but that doesn’t mean that everyone else does, or that “liking” is free of sexist bias.

The best I've heard so far came from Keesha Lance-Bottoms in an NPR interview I happened to catch. She said "VP Biden is a man of integrity and I have complete confidence in his integrity." It was short but rousing. I like her a lot although I am not very familiar with her or many of the others, so I won't pick a favorite. To borrow a phrase, I have complete confidence in Joe's veep-picking integrity!

Tara Reade’s allegation against Biden. His campaign along with russians influence is behind this story. This story, unlike the allegations made against trump, including the DNA request by E Jean Carroll, this story is flooding the internet and social media thanks to russian influence. Franken asked for an ethics investigation and his fellow Dems denied him even that much.

It was accusations such as those made against Biden and Franken that cast the entire #metoo movement into an uncomfortable situation. Yes, I want to believe the women -- as Mitch McConnell has said (when it suits his turtley ass to say so) -- but with accusations such as Reade's and that Republican bimbo who started the avalanche of dubious accusations against Franken, it's not as easy as it once was.

In politics, there's ALWAYS wiggle room. Biden came right out sand said that what Reade was saying is not true. I would really like to hear the words themselves from others: "I believe Joe Biden is telling the truth. I believe Tara Reade is lying." It's a big step, I know, and powerful, maybe even risky words, but THAT is what I am looking for in a VP.
