No No and No, this is not a good idea, it is not safe, it is not secure and can easily be hacked and rigged.
I am dead against this.

(6,002 posts)(There are lots of very smart people doing fascinating work on cryptographic voting protocols. We should be funding and encouraging them, and doing all our elections with paper ballots until everyone currently working in that field has retired.)

(16,820 posts)better than paper ballots. Print out the ballots with a box beside each name. Give each voter a pen and tell them to draw an x beside the names of the candidates they choose. Count the ballots by hand. We might not have the results for a day or two, but we'll be more certain of the results. We don't have to know the results on the night of the election. That has only been possible for the last 30-40 years, and it isn't necessary for our democracy.
