Family of slain Louisville EMT hires lawyer from Ahmaud Arbery case in police lawsuit

https://www.courier-journal.com/story/news/crime/2020/05/11/breonna-taylor-killing-family-hires-attorney-ahmaud-arbery-case/3108607001/

LOUISVILLE, Ky. ó The family of a decorated Louisville EMT who was fatally shot by police has hired a prominent civil rights attorney with the Black Lives Matter movement in their lawsuit against three officers.

Breonna Taylor, 26, was shot eight times by Louisville Metro Police officers who entered her apartment around 1 a.m. March 13. Police have said the officers were serving a search warrant as part of a narcotics investigation, but no drugs were found at the home.

Kenneth Walker, Taylor's boyfriend, was with her in bed when police entered the home, and police say he shot an officer. He faces criminal charges of first-degree assault and attempted murder of a police office, but no drug charges.

Taylor had no criminal record.

Say her name. Breonna Taylor.

2. How is a legal gun owner supposed to differentiate between criminal

intruders and cops who donít identify themselves? The cops action resulted in the death of an innocent, respected person and the injury of one of their own. The boyfriend being charged just is insult added to murder. Say both their names Breonna Taylor and Kenneth Walker. This list is too long.

3. That was my thought ...

If someone comes barreling into my house unannounced at 1 a.m. Iím supposed to magically assume itís the cops? Nope, Iíd shoot first to protect my family. Wow.

4. There was a case, some years ago,

where a black man was acquitted of killing a white police officer because he was in fear of his life.

Even the officers fellow cops testified that he was a raging racist.

https://www.nytimes.com/1987/07/17/us/man-acquitted-of-killing-officer.html

Here's another story of a Texas man being acquitted for shooting at cops during a no knock warrant.

http://txcann.com/texas-man-acquitted-after-shooting-at-cops-during-no-knock-raid/

All to often, cops get away with murder, but it seems that maybe this is changing as more and more cops are being charged.

5. for a month the police labeled her a suspect

Knowing full well the murdered an innocent person in their own home.

then there's this buried in the article.

According to the lawsuit, LMPD executed at least two search warrants ó including one at Taylor's home ó in the early morning of March 13 in an attempt to locate a suspect named Jamarcus Glover.

But police had already located Glover at his home and detained him before executing the warrant at Taylor's residence, the suit says.

Glover's home is more than 10 miles from Taylor's home on Springfield Drive, records show. He faces drug and gun charges.

They had the real suspect in custody, before they executed the warrant, on top of executing Breonna Taylor. Everyone involved should be arrested and tried.

11. I wish that someone would just "take care" of these murderers.

This shit can't continue.
