Please tell me my fears are irrational
We’re all stressed to the max right now, right? Tired, angry, irritated and frightened.
But I’m actually having fears that Trump is going to succeed in having Obama and Hillary arrested and charged with something. Yes, that’s completely absurd. And it would be unfathomable under NORMAL circumstances. But these times we are living are not normal times. All of the cabal, New World Order conspiracy theorists are calling for Obama and his administration to be investigated. Video and audio is being manipulated and shared on social media furthering the cause. And IDIOTS ARE BELIEVING IT and falling in line. When I see the armed terrorists in the Michigan State Capitol threatening the rule of law, I truly wonder what the rest of us are going to have to do to fight against the craziness. Yes, we stay sane. We use science and facts. But in the end, if there are more of them than us, if they are willing to kill us and we are not willing to kill them, if they yell louder than we do and spread their lies effectively - please tell me how we survive. We’ve got to face reality and this shit needs to be dealt with before complete crazy takes over. I’ve waiting years now for Trump to be exposed. Every time I think “that’s it, the final straw”...nothing happens to him. Will we, can we, stand up against this shit and make it stop?

As you state, Barr will do whatever Trump instructs. They aren’t even trying to hide it any more.

18. The armed yutzes are who scare me.
Like Michael Cohen explained, they “know” what Trump is telling them without Trump actually saying the words.
As far as Trump indicting his enemies, that hasn’t happened yet. But he will be emboldened by getting Flynn off the hook, and I would not be surprised at what he (Trump) tries next. |

My post clearly explains that. I’m merely saying that I see it gaining traction on social media and that concerns me.
We no longer have the luxury of not paying attention to this crap. We know it’s not true but the crazies don’t. If a crazy picks up a gun and shoots someone, the crazy isn’t going to be enlightened with facts, etc. This needs to be discussed in my opinion - not be hidden under the rug. I note your disagreement, and hope you are correct in that we have nothing to worry about. |

25. But, don't you see?
He is clearly setting up a scenario where he can declare Obama a traitor. If he orders him to be arrested, he will be arrested. This is what he is starting to set up right now.
He has had Barr exonerate Flynn. Flynn was supposed to be in jail for lying to Pence, but Pence has now said he did not. Don't you think that this is all highly peculiar? The rule of law we HAD is gone, buddy. You can't rely on it. What we think we should get is not what we will get if Trump is reelected. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see the Obama family casually move to some other country. Honestly, I'd rather see them go than to see Obama arrested for some charge that is phony. |

Most fear is irrational to begin with. You are wasting your time worrying about something that is not likely to happen. If it did happen, you are not empowered to do anything about it. Just vote when the time comes and take care of yourself.

Worrying over something that might never come to pass is irrational. Put your energy into doing what you can to make things better. Either forget about or do something about it. Ruminating just makes you miserable and does nothing to solve any problem.

'Irrational' refers to groundless, baseless, unfounded, illogical, etc. Trump regularly acts irrationally, and is a position to negatively affect the entire country in ways that have long lasting consequences. His irrationality has become routine.

24. You are NOT irrational.
You are doing what you should be doing, exercising your brain cells. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
We all speculated what would happen after he was let off by the Senate. He had a head rush right after that and started acting tough. He actually did that. You can see him evolving. He has been putting in place those traitors that will do anything they are told. Barr is one of them. Trump is still putting his regime together, but he has a vast number of toadies in place. He knows that he can damn well do what he wants, which is to ignore the rule of law. He thinks himself more a king or dictator than a pRes. Ask yourself: what pRes would ever have acted like this, bullying the states and stealing their supplies, ursurping the education and expertise of MDs while urging people to take worthless cures, and suggesting that maybe a swig of Lysol would work. Who would do that?? Trump would. You have a brain, ears, and eyes to see with. You make your own judgment. Think about these two facts: Something is truly wrong with Trump, and IMO Trump is not capable of changing his tone or optics under any circumstances. And, he is besties with dictators. He consults them, admires them, studies them, and wants to act like them. His demeanor is the same. He is a scowling, angry, hateful person with no intellectual capability, and he has complete power over us. No wonder we all have guilty thoughts. OP, we need a Plan A, B, C, or even D. We can't watch him get elected on Nov. 3rd and say, "Now what?" We have to have a plan. This is going to be ugly. It's okay for people to have the opinion that you are silly and shouldn't be devoting yourself to thinking and wondering. But, don't you be the one unprepared and aimlessly submitting to an obvious calamity. Don't be the one watching the water recede while everyone else is running to higher ground. It is absolutely shocking what the GOP has enabled to happen to us. I'm not saying for you to tremble in your boots with fear. Stay calm, plan to vote, and help your neighbors. But, those who will be most in need are those that are unprepared and don't know what to do, or what is happening. If it turns out that you don't need to do anything but vote Blue, then, good for us! We will have learned something. But, I don't think that Trump will go quietly. I just don't. I don't think that mentally he can, and he has his spawn in there with people like McConnell backing him, and most important, we as citizens just sit around watching our country slip away, and we cry over it, but do nothing to save it. So, I don't want you to go to bed thinking that you are being needlessly watchful, or silly, or whatever else was said upthread. You are a solid citizen, you have seen what Trump has done to tear apart our institutions and country, you have lived it, and you are allowed to have an opinion on this. We are going to vote Blue, and then take it one step at a time. #ImpeachmentNo.2 |

27. Thank you. I know I'm one of the reasonable ones.
I appreciate your response, and I agree with you. I’m sane and I’m okay investigating my fears. My real fear is that we might not get to November.
For some of the responses here, I feel I must not have been clear enough in my OP. You obviously understood. We do need a plan! We need to be doing something. As I said, facts are being manipulated to play into Trump’s narrative and people - A LOT OF THEM - are buying into it. They are either too stupid to see facts or else they simply hate the Left so much that they will be okay with lies being flaunted as fact. We are not doing enough to dispel the narrative. We didn’t in 2016 and we aren’t doing enough now. These are realistic concerns or else Hitler never would have made it to power. As I said also in the OP, I keep waiting for something, someone, anyone to bring Trump into check and I have yet to see that happen. He’s getting away with whatever he wants right now because of the Republicans in Congress. He’s also desperate now because he knows what waits for him if he loses in November and I would not put anything past his vileness. Thanks for understanding. |

38. If the crazy really starts taking over then we should really be ready to defend ourselves.
We are Americans and we have the right to do so, if not the duty to do so. I think that part is a given.
As far as Obama and/or Hillary being arrested, I think something like that would be the last straw for most of the country. That would amount to nothing more than a totalitarian dictatorship eliminating the political competition in order to seize and hold on to total power. Besides the Trump nutcases, that is just not going to fly. Trump and the RWNJ's would create more resistance with an act like that than they could possibly imagine and it would basically leave removal or resignation as the only option for Trump. |
