Thank God for disease, death and hardship! Most believers think Covid is a sign from from God.

As an atheist, I read this and think "God help us!"

The poll found that 31% of Americans who believe in God feel strongly that the virus is a sign of God telling humanity to change, with the same number feeling that somewhat. Evangelical Protestants are more likely than others to believe that strongly, at 43%, compared with 28% of Catholics and mainline Protestants.

The question was asked of all Americans who said they believe in God, without specifying a specific faith. The survey did not have a sample size large enough to report on the opinions of religious faiths with smaller numbers of U.S. adherents, including Muslims and Jews.

In addition, black Americans were more likely than those of other racial backgrounds to say they feel the virus is a sign God wants humanity to change, regardless of education, income or gender. Forty-seven percent say they feel that strongly, compared with 37% of Latino and 27% of white Americans.

My opinion is that they're not talking about themselves. They don't need to change anything. They mean the rest of humanity needs to change to be more like them.

We all know God wants us to change.

It’s amazing to think if God would go through all of that just to make a point then (S)he could use the same energy to right the world, one would think.

I always said God is not only an absentee Landlord, as Al Pacino said in Devils Advocate, but by the nature of this world...a Slumlord, as well

Its all we got

It's ridiculous that these idiots change their 'end of days' conclusions on the spur of the moment, it seems, every six months or so (or with the latest and greatest in new diseases that have popped up).

Too bad I won't be mourning their deaths at the hands of the CV, I'll be doing the mourning only if family and/or friends/neighbors are impacted.

If by their foolish and idiotic behavior they expose innocents to their beliefs, and thus, perhaps to CV illness and death, I will instead, be celebrating their deaths and illnesses at the hands of the CV, for it means that perhaps no more innocents will suffer for their mistakes (life and death mistakes).

One thing about the CV, it's only driven by science and data, and actual facts on the ground. Since these idiots don't seem to believe anything intelligent anyone tells them, e.g., stay at home, don't gather in large crowds, wash your hands, etc., I don't know how they'll reconcile their deaths at the hands of the CV, and yet, others who followed health code guidelines, live?
