It was a gorgeous day.
Huge cemeteries, and no one was there.
Spent some time at my parent's grave, and it was in good shape. I'll go again next week to clean it up a bit and plant something there.
And then I took my dog on a long and hilly walk...in the cemetery.
Sounds kind of strange to say it out loud...but I found peace there.
No one but me, my dog, and many thousand quiet souls.
So if you are looking for some tranquility, go take a nice walk in the cemetery on a beautiful day.

(17,287 posts)The little boy in the side yard next to my house played outside today. All day. No one was with him. He had a bathing suit on. Nothing else.
He also had a whiffle ball bat.
He would take the whiffle ball bat, shove the narrower end of it down the back of his bathing suit, wedge it firmly in his asscrack, and then run around screaming as the whiffle ball bat slapped him in the back as he ran.
AHHHHHHHHHHHHH! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!
All day. The whole entire day.
That's when I decided to go to the cemetery.
You take care as well.

(63,221 posts)I don't know, maybe he was having fun. Who knows. But it sounds like the poor kid needs some love and care and some adult who will pay some attention to him.
If you aren't asleep already, hope you can sleep well tonight.

We have some old cemeteries around here that I used to walk through, read the stones and wonder what the people were like. Sometimes you would find a grave site that had several members of a family that died within days of each other and wonder what illness took them out. I like the old grave stones, modern ones have a cold, mass production look about them. All and all, they look like just another brick in the wall.
