The Facebook comments are brutal.

Showed it to the senior son (graduation was cancelled today, due to rain....we were doing a drive-up thing), he said, as he listened (direct quote)

"Huh? This guy is a Republican right? Oh my god, what a cockweasel".

"Seriously? He said this to graduating seniors? How does he even have a job? Asshole."

I'll have to check it on FB just to giggle at the comments.

He could have at least given the kids a decent, short speech for their graduation but he had to try and play the comedian.

That was embarrassing. Wohoo, you'll remember your graduation because 90000+ (so far) fellow Americans died, that's the silver lining!
Whenever I see him, I have this feeling that he'll run for President one day, sort of following the GWB compassionate conservative fraud. He's a total phony, of course, but it might actually work if the Repub party wouldn't be totally insane.

that horror story that the rest of his speech was, it really got buried. I must say, the choral number is fantastic. I took the OP to mean 47 minutes so I started there which is a bit into that song. Very beautiful.

Fremont school board member Michael Petersen ... congratulated the Class of 2020 and said, "You deserved better than the graduation remarks from Senator Ben Sasse. The racism, implying that our graduates are fat and lazy, disparaging teachers, and attacking the mental health profession are despicable." He told Sasse in the post, "You owe the graduating students of Fremont High an apology."
