Rank-And-File Republicans Turn On Trump In New Effort To Block His Reelection

https://www.huffpost.com/entry/republican-voters-against-trump_n_5ed09e83c5b6aeca900f0949?ncid=APPLENEWS00001
<snip>
A new ad campaign puts Republican voters front and center to talk about President Donald Trump ― but it’s not an endorsement.

Just the opposite. They’re all explaining why they can’t vote for Trump, and why many plan to cast ballots for Democrat Joe Biden even when they disagree on policy, in the new campaign called Republican Voters Against Trump.

“I’d vote for a tuna fish sandwich before I’d vote for Donald Trump again,” said Jack Spielman, who voted for Trump in 2016 but now calls him “toxic.”

Each and every time Republicans are elected in the White House, they drive the economy in the ditch, and Democrats have to rescue it every time:

George H.W. Bush, 1991-1992 = Significant Recession, Deficit

Bill Clinton, 1994-2000 = Economy Recovered, Surplus

George W. Bush, 2007-2008 = Great Recession, Record Jobless

Barack Obama, 2009-2016 = Economy Recovered, Record Employment

Donald Drump, 2020 = Major Depression, Record Unemployment, Deficit Through The Roof, 100K+ Deaths.

YES, WORD WILL GET OUT TO THE ENTIRE COUNTRY ABOUT HOW TRUMP DESTROYED OBAMA'S PREPARATIONS FOR SUCH A DISASTER.....because we know about it now, and it is not even June.

..June, July, August, September and October....5 months for people to talk about Trump's destruction of Obama's preparation.

I still encounter plenty of people who have their blinders on about the clown.

Here's what REALLY worries me though:

If Trump loses he will fully go scorched earth. He has all manner of legal issues waiting for him if he loses...especially if he has no assurance of a pardon (which would not extend to individual states...so even then he's not in the clear). So then he's a cornered animal who has his finger on the button and no concern for anyone but himself.

......Just a question, when you say "mixed feelings about this" do you mean about the content of the various videos? When I read your post you're expressing your major concern about those who still support him, your concern about what happens even if he loses what he'll do, etc.

I'm just wondering if your response is regarding what's in the video? The reason I'm asking is because I want to work in some capacity for the upcoming election cycle, and I'm paying close attention to the videos that The Lincoln Project and others are putting out. I'm trying to get a feel for what's resonating. Having said that, what's going to resonate with those of us on DU and those who are Democrats at large, in many cases is going to be different than those who voted for dt in the past and regret it, those who haven't voted in the past at all, etc. So, back to my question for you, are your mixed feelings pertaining to the content of the video? Thank you.

56. Sorry
Sun Jun 14, 2020, 11:50 AM
Jun 2020

it took me awhile to see this...still new to the platform.

I have mixed feelings about backing the Orange Menace into a corner overall. His nature is such that he'd nuke Belgium (or wherever) if he felt like his time was up (politically OR biologically). Frankly, as much as I want to see it, a sweeping victory for Biden in November would make Trump a dangerous animal from that point until the inauguration. He has so many judgments awaiting him that he may just say "what have I got to lose?" in general.

I was actually a little irritated when Biden announced that he WOULDN'T pardon the bastard. Having the possibility of a pardon would make him that much more potentially pliable, even if that possibility would be justifiably yanked away after Biden takes office (assuming).

In dealing with a character like this it's basically like dealing with the borderline psychotic town drunk...who may be armed at any given point. Except this one has nukes...and a sizable chunk of the military that still supports him...and tons of nutjobs waiting for the bugaloo.

Re-educate the voters?

You have got to be kidding me. I'm sorry but these people are kidding themselves. They're looking at Trump as if he's some kind of aberration. He's not. He's the embodiment of everything The Republican Party had been preaching through their elected officials, their media blowhards and their rat fuckers like Roger Stone for going on 50 years now. All of their musings about the values of the party of old are illusions. Their party has never been interested in a balanced budget for god's sake! They've fucked everything up each and every time they've gotten their oily hand on the levers of power and only start bitching when a Democrat takes over and has to spend all of their time and political capital cleaning up the messes created by the Republicans before them while at the same time doing everything they can possibly do to obstruct. These people have their heads so far up their own asses that that they can't see the reality of what their party has been lurching toward for half a century now. They're delusional. But, if they are going to vote for Biden and if they can convince any others of their rotten to the core party I'll take it. Who am I to look a gift horse in the mouth.
