My humble advice to the Republican party: Convince Trump to drop his re-election bid.

You've seen the polls. He's drowning. Now, maybe he can come back, but it would take a great message and serious message discipline. Both of which he lacks. And you know that any future positive news, he will step on with a dumb tweet. He's not the political mastermind genius that some think he is. He's a doofus that got lucky. Comey won 2016 for him.

Who knows? Mike Pence may be able to pull off it. You never know, but it's worth a shot. Pence is your only chance to keep the presidency and save the senate. Otherwise, Trump is going to take you all down not just in this election cycle but possibly future ones as well.

Hey. What do you have to lose?

This POS just may get us a 1932 level electoral landslide.

This country needs the hard swing to the left.

They've had lots of chances to switch horses.

Now, they've got to dance with who brung them to the dance.

And, a bunch of other sayings that I can't think of right now.

Their dilemma is that "plenty" is not most of them, and at this point, most of them still back him.

That in itself is a very scary thought, but it appears to be the case. Hold a symbolic vote in the US Senate's Republican caucus. Who wants Trump replaced at the top of their ticket? Show of hands? Romney might raise his, as he already tipped his hand at the Impeachment trial vote. Others? Susan Collins? Lisa Murkowski? Tim Scott? Leningrad Lindsey? Hah! Fat chance. They'll all vote for Trump to head their ticket again. Some will do it because that's what they think their voters want, and others will do it because Trump is EXACTLY what they want.

when his defeat will be obvious even to himself.

A deliberate move to punish the GOP and its candidates for not working hard enough to deliver a victory for Trump. All GOP candidates will go down in one big swirl of the toilet bowl -- with shouts of cursing and pointing fingers. Big turds and little turds -- no mercy, one big swirl and they are flushed.

Threads like this are the most incredible thing I see here. No situational awareness whatsoever. Obviously never accompanied by any conversation with members of the other side, or viewing of their opinions.

Republicans think Donald Trump is one of the greatest presidents of all time. They are talking about Trump winning by landslide. I see that all over the place, merely by sampling various websites that have nothing to do with politics, and likewise comments underneath random YouTube videos. They fully believe it.

Yesterday there was a thread here asserting Republicans would turn to Romney in 2024. Unbelievable. They despise Romney. He turned against Trump and now is considered ultimate evil. Heck, the Utah GOP primary voters had an overwhelmingly favorable view of Trump yet Romney was underwater with them. Now project that to the rest of the nation.

This would not a.)Happen and b.)Help us.

Trump and Trumpism needs to be thoroughly repudiated at the polls. If Trump somehow manages to be convinced to resign and/or not run (which his fragile ego wouldn't allow), it will take the heat off of Republican Senators to have to either stick to or repudiate him (both of which are political losers for them) and it may make it "safe" for other Republicans to vote for the new Republican nominee.

a GOPer. For him destroying the country and the GOP would be a win-win.

He doesn't care if he wins and may even drop out at the last minute.
