I am missing something about the Brooks case

Who fired Brooks after the shooting? Was it the police chief or the mayor?

From what I read the chief retired and made a brief statement that included support for Mayor Bottoms but really didn't give a reason for the resignation leaving me wondering if the chief resigned in protest of the cop's firing or in support of it and just throwing in the towel due to the controversy sure to follow.

Anyone know who was responsible for firing the cop?

so foreign to Americans—to accept responsibility for things that happen under their watch (do you hear me, trump?).

Also, she's not leaving the department completely, just shifting to another position.

4. The chief knew she would be fired at that point. Sometimes heads gotta roll.

This was one of those.

Plus, the chief got into a squabble with Mayor and DA over firings and charges related to stopping of two students a week or so ago.

6. Just a heads up - Rolfe was the officer fired. Brooks was his victim.

Garrett Rolfe, on the force since 2013, was fired, and his partner, Devin Bronsan, was placed on administrative duty early Sunday, hours after Police Chief Erika Shields resigned.
