Y'know all those rights thingies the GrOPpers object to so much... Excluding, the 2nd amendment, of course.

provide a constitutional basis for Social Security, Medicare, unimployment insurance, on and on. And that all such programs that depended on the New Deal era interpretation are invalid.

Or that the so-called "right to privacy" cobbled up out of inferences in various parts of the Constitution doesn't exist. Birth control, the right to elective surgery, much else related to WHO gets to control our bodies, not only abortion, at stake. Our right to the benefits of the internet at stake. Much more.

Or invalidating new laws meant to root the kind of corruption he's there to protect out of government.

Makes him lean towards the more permissive / free stance on some social issues or cases limiting federal power.

Roberts by all appearances is terrified of the court being at the center of a culture war.

that's been doing such "good" work through Trump. Hopefully it'll be a demoralizing setback for them all.

Hopefully those conservatives who weren't happy about what their voting for Trump meant for LGBTQ will experience it as validation of their tolerance of equality. America badly needs more of them to break with the Republican Party's extremist base.

Adam Winkler
@adamwinkler
Alito says that "sex" must be defined exactly the way that lawmakers understood that term in 1964. I'm skeptical he'll apply that same rule to defining what counts as "arms" when reading the Second Amendment.

Just my opinion, of course. But I'm thinking next comes a rope-a-dope ruling in favor of Trump, validating his exclusive "privilege" against subpoena from the HOUSE for his IRS filings and later the full unredacted Mueller reports.
