Actually, it was more a story on Beatlemania, than the Beatles themselves, and CBS followed in December, and Jack Parr did a story in January.

August 1963 MLK's 'I have a dream' speech

Eta--Never forget. In September 1963 the Birmingham church was bombed, and 4 young black girls were killed

Eta2--Doug Jones, dem senator from AL, when he was US Atty in AL successfully prosected the men who bombed the church. He wrote a book about it
