This is going too far!

So, one of our favorite You Tube links is R. Carlos Nakai's Canyon Suite, with the images of ancient petroglyphs as a backdrop to his beautiful Native American flute playing. Today, I checked our history for the video - it was gone, so I searched for it and it seemed I had found that video. But get this - when I played it, it was different; now it has commercials whereas there were no commercials before. Even worse, the first commercial that came up was from Praeger U! It was Candace Owens ranting about whatever, I turned it off immediately.

So, it seems the conservative elements out there are ramping up their influence operations across seemingly random social media. You and I both know nobody who is watching R. Carlos Nakai is likely to be influenced by Praeger propaganda, but... troubling.

Fortunately, I have been a devoted Firefox user for a couple of decades and I am free of ads in my laptop browser, including those on YouTube. It is so much more enjoyable and less time wasting.

Otherwise, I might be annoyed like that, as well. I have no means to buy, rent or use anything that is being offered in any advertising, so it is no skin off of anybody's nose. Nobody is losing a potential customer in that sense and I don't even care to be told to want anything I don't really need to be happy.
