One cop kills someone, gets 7 years...another cop steals some money gets same sentence..

The system is beyond repair...You must read the entire story to see how fucked up the judicial system is..
I came upon this looking at another post at Democratic Underground. Then, I read the entire story and realized how fucked up this is..Chicago Sun-Times is the link..Yes, please read the whole story.(a bit confusing, but the conclusion is correct) 7 years for the killer cop, 7 years for the stealer cop ______________________________________________________________________________________

This is the Democratic Underground post today..by mucifer......about Sgt. Elizondo,.title of that post is..Corrupt Chicago police sergeant sentenced to more than 7 years in prison for falsifying search

This cop today, Sgt. Xavier Elizondo got 7 years for stealing money...The key paragraph is about half way down the page.. Please read the whole story toward the bottom,... you will find the paragraph below..The cop, Jason Van Dyke, got national publicity for killing Laquan McDonald in October 2014.....Van Dyke got the same sentence as the cop got today. Van Dyke was tried in 2019..(Van Dyke also got 7 years)

Today's cop was Sgt. Xavier Elizondo, he was sentenced to 7 years also.( about the same as the
killer cop..Jason Van Dyke)

The paragraph below is it: ( please read the entire Sun-Times article)
___________________________________________________________________________________
In 2017, a federal judge sentenced Officer Marco Proano to five years in prison for opening fire on a stolen Toyota Avalon full of teenagers in December 2013, wounding two. And a state court judge sentenced Officer Jason Van Dyke in 2019 to nearly seven years in prison for the October 2014 killing of Laquan McDonald.

1. This isn't just for cops

Sentencing is inconsistent throughout the justice system. Itís terrible.

2. Thank You for your comment..The various layers of the system are controlled by

different court systems and different governmental systems..For example, there are Cook County Courts in Illinois, as well as Federal Courts in Illinois. Different states, have different rules on courts. Some states mandate ..City Courts......others only State Courts.
.....I really don't know the entire system across the country, but it seems like it really sucks.. And each state has a different system..So, Florida has rules that are different from New York State.. Sometimes the same law broken in different states results in different sentences............

Let's hear from a lawyer. Maybe one of our lawyers will step up..Thanks for reading this. Hard to believe..

3. The only silver lining here is that

two worthless pieces of garbage are in prison cells, and not
victimizing fully evolved humans.

I support a full-on search and removal of shitty cops.

4. Sadly, this is not a new problem, goes back many, many years. There was a great movie about this.

I think it was called, "The French Connection"

Got the Academy Award for best picture, and Gene Hackman got the Academy Award for best actor.
Story about police corruption is not new..
....The story is the same, the actors and events are different...... Every few years there is another story about this problem....One advance in catching bad cops is the cameras that are on the cop's clothing and in the police vehicles. These cameras have caught a lot of bad guys as well as bad cops...Sometimes the people walking around have cameras too. We saw that last month with a cop knelling on someone who was killed.
...That cop was Derek Chauvin, who was the officer charged with killing George Floyd. That happened on.. May 25, 2020.
