@Redistrict
I've seen enough: Lauren Boebert (R) has defeated Rep. Scott Tipton (R) in the #CO03 primary. Tipton becomes the fifth House incumbent to lose renomination in 2020.

(34,857 posts)In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if the Democrats pick this one up (they held the district until 2011).
I think shes an improvement because she will vote the same but is nutty enough we might actually beat her in the general.
Is going to be a competitive district this fall. It's a boon for democrats to not have to face an incumbent there now. Still going to be a fight to get, but it's going to be high on the list of flip targets for DNCC this year.

(296,848 posts)scott tipton.. But I would think it will matter how much more trump fucks up and how much she sucks up to trump.
won that district by 8 in 2018 against the same challenger who just won the dem primary after winning by 14 in 2016. She's a quality candidate for us.
The Rep candidate is full on RWNG. Her claim to fame was being on Fox News under the headline "Colorado Woman Confronts O'Rourke Over Gun Confiscation." Her campaign page is full of pictures of her wearing or holding a gun and she's proudly displaying her endorsement from the "Bikers for Trump."
She's on Trump tighter than his girdle.

(17,085 posts)As will Boebert. Cortez and Montezuma County is the least competitive polity I've ever lived.
