field hospital set up in a local shopping center and we could handle the overflow. I feel certain Texas has made no such arrangements.

It's at the coliseum.

It's part of the emergency response. It isn't set up yet, because we aren't at that level, but emergency management is on top of it.

I think some of the small towns will send patients here. Some of our rural areas just don't have hospitals. It seems any town under 30,000 doesn't seem to have a hospital, but many of those areas are ranch country and they are used to driving 100 miles for whatever. I have a friend who lives in a small town in South Texas, he would drive to college 75 miles one way. No biggy for him, it was a way of life.

Rural Texas is much less densely populated than rural NY.

It is interesting to see that they have figured out that mechanical oxygenation of the blood is much less damaging than the ventilators. I do feel for all of those poor babies and hope they manage to make it through hospitalization without coming down with COVID.

It was difficult to sit through all of that, but the level of information imparted in this vid piece was excellent. Biggest takeaway, if only people will listen: put on a mask, and if you can stay home, do it.

Did I hear this correctly?

Or are 30% of the moms in labor that are diagnosed asymptomatic?

I kinda think 30% is the diagnosis rate, maybe because I'm hearing it from a nurse. (Kinda like the tox screens we would give the moms...always reported positive test rates, whether the mom showed evidence of substance abuse or not)

But 20 percent positive is insane.

You gotta ask why these patients are going to other cities, if TMC claims to have room?
