even though the positions are nonpartisan, the people running usually aren't

Usually rate judicial candidates. Well qualified, qualified, or not qualified. (Or a similar system). These are the lawyers who have stood in the judges’ courtrooms.

I don’t know where you are, so I can’t help further than that. Google to find.

i am too, and was wondering the same thing........ I saw the Detroit free Press is "working on" a comprehensive voter guide. I emailed them and asked when it would be published. If i hear back, i'll try and PM you!

I knew nothing about either of them, so I did a search for their names and found profiles and quotes from both of them. For the guy, I found quotes boasting about having voted for and supported both Ronald Reagan and a long time Republican congressman. For the female candidate I learned that she supports a county-wide program that provides treatment rather than incarceration for those with substance abuse problems which I know has helped many get and stay sober. I voted for her.
