... I can't help but wonder how much her parents paid to get her into Harvard, and who took her bar exams for her.

(110,950 posts)At their ability to improvise with their lies and to never answer a question honestly.
What annoys me the most is that not that long ago, she said Trump wasn't a republican, and posed a danger to her party. But, just like Kellyanne Conway, she has gladly accepted thirty pieces of silver, and now lies to the press and public without shame, never answering a question.

(11,772 posts)...if they just decided to boycott any WH press briefing, and submitted a joint statement saying why, perhaps it would have an effect. I mean, a WH press briefing with only Fox and OANN would be a farse.

(45,261 posts)so she probably trained for it to be able to lie so consistently and convincingly about everything without ever answering a question. Liberals always get hung up on facts and providing correct information but conservatives are not restrained by that. The art of BS is strong on their side

(33,368 posts)...have been going on a very long time and we've only seen the tip of the iceberg; the entire concept of being a "legacy" student is rather bizarre I think.
Having George W. Bush out of Yale, Trump out of Wharton; and this one, who you evocatively refer to as MAGAninny, out of Harvard diminishes the value that these high end universities proclaim for their degree holders.
We now have a completely reasonable and likely scenario of how Trump got into and went through Wharton while having the low level vocabulary of someone barely capable of being a sports announcer for an Oklahoma high school football team; I recall one professor who taught him remarking that he was the dumbest student he ever saw there; but I'm not sure I remember the specifics.
The stratification of schools in terms of prestige is becoming increasingly malignant. I have little patience with any of it; and I extend it fairly broadly. We here the words "Stanford Professor" and we assign oracular abilities to this person even though they can frankly show themselves to be of very limited ability and lacking in depth of thought.
I use Princeton's libraries, attend lectures there, and I overhear students there, and see what they are working on. Many are quite good, very clearly, but some, you wonder, whether they are there because they were really outstanding students or because of connections, money and even cheating. A neighbor of mine, who works at Princeton says that once a student gets in, they push you through to make sure you graduate. Of the two young men I know - friends of my son - who are going there, one is doing pretty good, but getting full of himself, the other seems to be drifting aimlessly. I knew both when they were small children; the drifting one was the smarter of the two.
