and sell hats with the logo for $5.00. I suppose it could be a loss leader. I assumed retail markup was 50%. They sold sweatshirts and tshirts with the logo at the same time - also on sale. They did those sales 3 or 4 times a year. They would get a huge shipment in and leave the full boxes on the floor. They had the email addresses of many of their customers so they could contact them for the sales. The customers were 10 times as many as there were on a regular day. They had a sign up computer in the campus store where you could leave your email to be notified of sales. I think they probably should have stated they would respect the email with privacy measures and not sell them. They had a longstanding relationship with the suppliers in China. I'm sure Trump does too. Queens University is in Kingston, Ontario Canada. Those are Canadian prices which are always more than Americans pay for things.

to that here. I'll have to get my research hat on 😏 !

Btw I think it was 8 or 10 weeks ago that we had an interaction when the Covid Death toll was around 30k, and I said that I expected it to go 60k and possibly 100k ? That it's now heading to 150k and beyond, in such a short time, shows how appalling things are.

group. See if you increase potential customer base, not your individual order size, to see if you can get a better price. The campus stores across the country may have all joined together i don't know. I'm sure it is pretty sophisticated how they are bought at such good prices. The manager was always on her computer plotting something, never on the floor. She left that to other managers.

I'm a member of a Clan Council here in Ireland, which is a non-profit voluntary group. I'm looking after the website, which we set up on Squarespace, with the help of a Squarespace developer. We're doing it in stages, so the next one is to add the store, which will help us to fund raise to buy the land where the ancestral forebears emanated from. It's a long process but at least we are moving in the right direction ! Potentially we could link up with the Clans of Ireland, but I think our site is more advanced than most.

Descendants of that branch got together in the early 80s and went back to scotland in a group of 70. They had a great time and met the chief. They were also hosted by a farmer who lives in scotland and may or may not be related to us. He was in ottawa in the 1970s, knew some relatives of his had immigrated to ottawa 150 years before, and picked up the telephone book and started calling. He found one of my family who had a similar story and he's been to visit numerous times.

Thankfully our last one was last September, so the next isn't on until Sept 2022, so hopefully we will all be in a better position in two years time. The US/Canada descendants are still the biggest grouping, but we are getting more and more from Aus/NZ, as well as the UK. We just need to increase the Ireland based contingent. We have our DNA project group, which increases all the time.
