How do we get rid of an obvious madman who is the president?

It's been said again and again that the constitution is not a suicide pact. At this moment, it seems that it is.

We have a crazed, sadistic creature holding the most powerful job in the world. The vast majority of Americans know it and there's not a damn thing we can do about it.

When he loses on Nov. 3rd, it will drive him even madder. And yet, he'll still hold power for another two and a half months. Who knows what he'll do?

When/IF human beings survive this very dangerous period is an open question. But, if we do survive it, change is needed. The founding fathers couldn't imagine a human-like, totally ignorant, cruel creature ever holding the office of president. But it happened. It can never be allowed to happen again.

Trump and the entire current Republican Party must not only be beaten, they must be crushed. They are all enemies of freedom, science, and the reality that all the rest of us live in.

2. Me too -- the only advantage of living through this is

knowing clearly the glaring deficiencies in our laws of governance so they can hopefully be fixed.

More scary, though, is the prospect of a looming Constitutional convention—something Republicans are a few states shy of making as a reality.

9. The flaws in the Constitution are now clear, but...

Trump was duly impeached, and all but one (one!) Republican Senator voted against his removal.

The Constitution can be fine-tuned, but not until this batch of Republicans is history.

3. We have to make the GOP. . .

. . .the equivalent of the Germans at Stalingrad after their surrender in January 1943.

Beaten, broken, sick, starved, no hope.

NO MERCY, boys and girls. Pedal to the metal all the way to November 3 and beyond.

12. Even though I've seen the effects of one of those exploding, I can't help but agree

One of my neighbors - it was a brain aneurysm and it happened right in front of me and, fortunately, other neighbors. She survived but it was not a quality life. Of course, she didn't realize that - just everyone who had to take care of her knew the damage. Fortunately she had a great family. No doubt, the trump clan would shut him away and cut him from their lives as an inconvenient expense.

All I can think of is to compare how he'd likely be treated, to how Joe Kennedy Sr. was cared for by his family.

salt the earth.

They must never again be out in a position of Governance. Let the Lincoln folks start a new party, if indeed this is not already what they are doing.

"VOTE"

But I see your point. There is way too much time lapse in between the election and his exit from office.

11. The conservanazis are going to destroy us.

tRump is now going to hide the reports on how bad he pandemic is striking the US. I'm betting he'll give Putin the numbers. Fox and the conservanazis are pushing more and more hatred into the middle of this pandemic over wearing a mask. Next up, open schools. Spread the virus even faster. Disable more and more of the population. The KKK in the White House are probably hoping the virus will kill minorities.

I firmly believe if tRump looses the election, conservanazi radicals will strat shooting those the perceive as "enemies of the state".

The conservanazi republikans enjoy their power and are willing to let the goofy POS tRump destoy this nation.

27. I used to be with you on "not worried"

But the GOP has "failed me" at every turn when I thought they would sack up and dump him. I firmly believe if he is aloud to run for re-election he will burn the country down. The numbers are just not there for him to win, and everyone outside the QANAON crowd realizes it. The GOP has one more chance here(after a half dozen or so..) to end this, and I'm 100% confident they WILL NOT.

If they were smart(they're not), they'd signal to Pelosi that they would convict and remove for the Stone commutation(clear impeachable offense) and the GOP could select a new candidate and move on.

But they wont, and the country is screwed because he WILL destroy it if allowed to. Too many people willing to believe any nonsense he says.

24. Simple. 4 Republicans need to find the courage to join the Senate Democrats in impeaching him.

Say, they signal Schumer that they are ready to impeach on new articles ASAP. I think Nancy, Schiff, and Nadler could have the new articles voted in the House pretty quick...no investigation needed and expidite a vote. Walk it over to the Senate and demand a new Senate vote. Can Lindsey and McConnell stall/slow walk it? Don't know, but they will certainly pay a political price for their treachery.

28. An, I thought it was a simple majority.

OK, I amend that to 15 Republicans...I assume Romney would still vote to impeach.

Actually, I wish Pelosi/Nadler/Schiff would do this anyway. Base it on his incompetence/criminal negligence of his actions on the CV-19 pandemic since January. Forced all of the Republicans to vote on Trump's fitness before the Nov.elections.

Make Trump the 1st Twice Impeached President! He can finally claim is rightful place in American history as the worst President ever.

29. The Republicans are more responsible than Trump himself.

They could have removed him as the Constitution requires but they consciously decided to let him stay.
They are his enablers and should shoulder as much blame as Trump himself.

Really, what do you do when a voting majority in government are corrupt?
Is there anyway the Constitution could handle this?
I doubt it.
