Another GREAT reason to wear a mask

Masks seriously piss off Trump supporters.

https://cdapress.com/news/2020/jul/24/we-will-not-comply-5/

I had to go to the courthouse yesterday to register my new car (2020 VW Tiguan, and yes it is very nice), and this massive anti-mask protest was going on in the parking lot.

The cutest thing is, there were about as many signs claiming "tyranny" as there were signs supporting Donald F. Trump. It's so cute when someone who thinks being told to wear a mask is tyranny supports a man who's an actual tyrant.

at its 14,000 nationwide establishments, just as an example of what's happening. Target, CVS, Walgreen's, Kroger, Winn-Dixie, no doubt a bunch more.

Last Monday here in what's still largely rural RW crackerland Florida, people arrived at busy Walmart and Sam's Club the first day masks were required with masks and arrived at the doors with them on. They'd been warned ahead of time, but really? Just when did all these mask-refusers from the weeks before sneakily get them?

My best guess is that most of them were happy to have an excuse to wear them. There's a killer virus going around, after all.

And the mask wearing is WAY WAY up from 5-6 weeks ago ... I get the same sense that the wingnuts around here are a lot happier to wear them when they feel like it's legally required. When it wasn't a while back they were much more conflicted and apt to try make a political statement by not wearing one ... even though they probably felt like they should. Now they're just doing it.

Trump could've saved a lot of freaking lives just by having delivered a consistent freaking message ... YOU SHOULD WEAR MASKS ... loudly and clearly to his knuckledragging cult members ... all this time.

They're trained to be obedient little followers, it would've worked.

of weeks ago. EVERYONE now wearing a mask, no attitudes, no bitching, We remarked to each other how interesting it was to see this complete turn-around. How do maskholes justify flipping the switch to themselves? I’d be interested in knowing.

6. Here in Crackerland, SC, we had a mask order instituted a week ago.

This only happened because our mayor got COVID-19, and it scared the piss out of most of the city council. There haven't been any protests that I am aware of, probably because of huge fines and threats of arrest that came with the order.

high levels of education.

For balance, I'll throw in that a couple of weeks ago we went driving on on a weekday and made our way down long, lonely roads to two affluent coastal "fishing" villages hoping for good seafood on a waterside deck, or at least takeout for a picnic. Instead, we found wealthy maskless people out and about in such numbers that we didn't care to get out and stroll and walking into the congested front of any restaurant to pick up an order struck us as a really bad idea. Refugees from diseased cities?
Snowbirds unable to fly off to summer in wherever as usual?

The only person I saw with a mask in one village looked like an unfortunate "front-line" worker on her way home. Bizarre and definitely the most callously irresponsible people we'd seen by far. I got some pix of the last of a trumparade of decorated boats filled with patriots coming in, and one of a street full of these jerks to send our kids, but lunch was a drive-through hamburger at the end of the long road back to relative civilization.
