Has there been much damage or is it mostly precautionary?

I'm worried about the refugees in tents over in Mexico.

But it speaks volumes that Mercedes had to set up two shelters: one for families with Covid and another for ones without. That's how prevalent the disease is down here. A hurricane is the last thing we needed.

If it's like Dolly it took several days in most places. It wasn't bad enough to damage houses by wind, flooding continues to be an issue.

2. Sounds like this is a disaster in the making within a disaster that has already occurred.

I am so sorry for these people, I hope they are all taken care of and get what they need. I hope that they all have enough sense to protect themselves and each other by wearing masks and taking every precaution to prevent the spread of disease.

This was the big fear. That natural disasters, especially hurricanes, will make this pandemic even worse and drag things out longer. Of course Trump wasn't thinking about that, but health care agencies were. However he still has no plan in place and no disaster plan either. He's just going to let nature take it's course and if people die, they die.

That's what the GOP counts on with their massive cuts in government programs.

The ones that do live through the neglect and suffering are never heard either.......

Best wishes for a speedy recovery, Texas!........

Tornado watches issued for several areas but no warnings seen on radar at this time.

4:30am EST: Looked at NWS radar and there's tremendous rain density around Brownsville area. Looks like storm's eye is a good distance west of McAllen.

And they will hardly be attending school by themselves, there are teachers, bus drivers, custodians, teaching assistants, cafeteria workers, the list goes on. And having worked with young kids, they have trouble keeping shoes on and need help with all sorts of things, we can't expect them to keep distances, let alone wear masks.
