I've heard that the 17 YO wore them to hide powder burns, but I think it probably is a shared cue to the police and ID the people who are with them. If so, if everyone wears gloves, the LEO won't be able to differentiate friend or foe.
Bonus! Will help stop the spread of the virus, too.

(11,495 posts)that the blue gloves let the police know he was either with them or part of the militia, something to that affect, and he may have been raising his hands in the air so they could see the blue gloves.
I like the idea of everyone wearing them.

(3,639 posts)In Uruguay two political parties have long been named the Colorados and the Blancos. The names date back to Uruguay's (long) civil war when the fighters on the two sides wore one or the other color to know who to kill.
IIRC, in the beginning it was the red against the blue but the blue faded; the now colorless blancos fought on.
