The folks living in small towns see him as one of them. He thinks like them. He talks like them. He's the only one who recognizes them.

They're not going to give that up.

The democratic governor keeps things going to their satisfaction. But he's not the President.

My guess is this is why PA is sometimes called "Pennsyltucky" because the demographic of residents resemble rural Kentucky.

We “lost” here (by a razor-thin margin) because the city folks just weren’t that enthusiastic about HRC. Normally the cities outvote the Alabama part of the state to keep us blue. I think city folk are way more enthusiastic about the Joe/Kamala ticket this time. Please dear God.
Yes Gov Wolf is popular and easily won re-election. But don’t go into any of his FB posts the comments are overrun by haters.

didnt cede social media to the hate crazed it wouldn't be overrun with them. Republicans are just more aggressive on social media and it demoralizes the good guys. Just like, say if they took over on here, it would work on us mentally. Republicans understand the power of social media.

The false narrative about Clinton may save face for those who let themselves be duped but ignoring reality will keep the same thing from happening in 2020.

We have had 4 years of disaster masquerading as government and the race in. Pa is closer than it should be.

We are again being warned of interference in our election- this time louder and clearer . To ignore reality once again can doom what we have left of democracy.

Pittsburgh continues to see a population decline as they've lost population every decade since the 1950s. Just since 2000, they've lost 34,000 people.

Philadelphia is marginally better, having seen only slight growth in the 2000s. But since the 1970s, they've lost over 400,000 people.

As those demographics shift, the population centers become less significant compared to the middle of the state.

PA is trending Republican and it's why, despite Biden being a native son, he barely leads there. I think he'll win the state this go around but it would not surprise me if in 8 or 12 years it's basically the new Ohio - a state Dems can win but one that likely leans GOP.

for years. In some cases their brains are so cooked and that maybe getting C-19 and or death
might stop their hate but I doubt it.

I remember driving on I-70 around Washington, PA and being behind a car in late winter 2019
and it had on it the following bumper stickers:

Hillary for Prison Jail the bitch
Trump
NRA stuff
American Flag sticker
the name of his church

The GOP has been very effective selling hate to these people using gun rights and abortion. They
will vote against their own best interests time after time.

PA is Pittsburgh in the west Philadelphia in the east and Alabama in the rest.
