Our American Dreams PAC

The American Dream has been one of the most radical ideals of our young country: that where you start in life does not determine where you end up; that you can come to our shores as a penniless dreamer and become a successful entrepreneur, or be born to humble circumstances in our nation and become president. Generations of innovators, first-generation college graduates and first-generation Americans have kept this dream alive, both across the nation and right here in Georgia.

But for too many, the American Dream has become mythological rather than aspirational. These days, especially amid the economic carnage of the COVID-19 pandemic, the upward mobility of the Dream simply feels out of reach for too many people. The women we are endorsing will work hard to expand economic opportunity to every community because they know firsthand what equitable access to opportunity can mean for a family. Our candidates represent the best of our collective American story: first-generation Americans, first-generation college graduates, small business entrepreneurs, union members, and fierce champions for economic justice.

That’s why I’ve founded Our American Dreams PAC—to elevate women candidates who are committed to ensuring that the American dream is achievable for all Georgians. As a candidate for statewide office, I traveled through over 150 Georgia counties and met Georgians from every walk of life. They shared their hopes for their future and their children’s future. They opened up about their heartache when their community felt left out or left behind in the American Dream. The only way to ensure that we undo the systemic ways that marginalized communities are kept from achieving the American Dream is to ensure that our leaders include individuals from those communities.

That is why Our American Dreams is committed to lifting up the new leaders from the rising American electorate and why we’re starting right here in Georgia, where I’m raising my family and working to elect members of the new rising American electorate who embody the American Dream and want to make it a reality for all.
