(58,437 posts)Dems lead on virtually all of those issues, with the Repub position being somewhere between "it's a hoax" and "so what? Not the gov't's job."

(58,437 posts)Every major part of that polled 60-75% favorable. But bundle it all up together and label it "Obamacare" and it was somehow "controversial."
Sometimes it's hard not to think we're doomed.

(5,441 posts)Yet around 30-35% seem to be hard-core Trump supporters (and he polls over 40%), which many have stated is because they are racists. How to explain the discrepancy? Some possibilities: 1) Many do not know they are racists. 2) They are not racists per se, just racially insensitive (do not recognize racism). 3) They don't realize that Trump is encouraging racism. 4) They have other issues that are so important (think abortion), that they tolerate Trump's racial divisiveness.
