Perhaps some thought abortion was not an issue at this time, as well as other rights. I am looking for a silver lining someplace.

(4,845 posts)Republicans will hold their nose for both Trump and the republican senator in order to get a 6-3 SC. I hope I am wrong but I think the races for Maine and SC just changed to the republican direction. We will see the polling shift in a week or 2.

(11,605 posts)Pretty sure a majority of people there are pro-choice. If Collins agrees to confirm a nominee before Inauguration Day I don't see how she keeps her seat.

(4,845 posts)judge an election issue like in 2016 because it worked for them. And the on the fence republicans (that would have sat out) will go home and vote for Trump and the republican senator. Like I said, I hope I am wrong but we will see the polling shift in a week or 2.

(5,042 posts)Rethugs CANNOT be trusted. You cannot hinge Biden's advantage on people who are obsessed with abortion.

(2,173 posts)If this helps the rethugs to win the Senate there will not be a single law that makes it through the Senate.
Unless Moscow Mitch is indicted and removed he will never let a single useful law through. He will block every judge. He would rather see the country burn to the ground than give up one shred if power

(4,131 posts)We already had peak motivation to get rid of Trump. Now every disillusioned Republican has a reason to vote that may have been sitting on the fence before.
I think Biden will still win the Presidency but I suspect this will cost us any chance we had of taking over the senate.
