Everything about Trump that is vile, crass, squalid, underhanded, mean, contemptuous, and disgusting was well-known long before he came down the escalator.

These are the things his supporters voted for. And they got exactly what they voted for.

Unfortunately, the rest of us also got what the Trumpanzees voted for...

I have mentioned once or twice that we live in Tennessee, so I am accustomed to seeing Trump supporters everywhere. I have one sister who is a Democrat and my mother lives with her, so it is especially hard for her because she feels as if she is beating her head against a brick wall when she argues with my mother re her support for Trump. That has got to be so hard for her.

We both love our mother and sister dearly, so it hurts us to see their determined willingness to vote for Trump again. I strangely somehow even feel betrayed by their decision to do so. How can we be so different? We grew up in a household with a man just like Trump, albeit without the wealth. That makes it even harder for me to understand, how she can overlook Trump’s cruelty, bullying, lack of intelligence, and myriad other horrible flaws.

It is depressing, so I try to put it out of my mind.

Just one in my circle of friends voted for trump last cycle. (all in my circle were high school friends from the early 80s-- Dungeons and Dragons being our common denominator back in the day). He's our token libertarian and said he voted for trump for two reasons only: he's not a Democrat and he 'triggers' Democrats (there's a reason we all avoid talking politics when we get together).

Last summer (2019) he stated out of no where that he's "not voting for trump next go around because he's in it only for himself..." I/we could have pressed him for more, but why question these little miracles? He's holding his nose and voting for Biden (his words) and seems to hate Donny more than anyone else I know.

Not a bad turnaround for a less-than-literate redneck who got caught up in the hate radio craze of the nineties and never looked back. It took trump to get him to vote for a Democrat for the first time in his life.

...RW radio was a libertarian thing. So much of that programming touches on social restriction & military support that I'd think libertarians would be turned off by it.
I know a few Ls, both little and capital L. They don't strike me as the type that would buy into anything but the low tax, low regulation blather on those shows.
I do know only a few, so not representative. Still, I'm surprised.

We fucking told them.

Again and again and again and over and over and over. They knew EXACTLY who he was, because we knew, and we said it out loud. Hillary said it on a national debate stage to a national audience.

You're correct that they're assholes for wanting to do this again, but they knew what they were buying the first time.
