Forbes: Todays 2020 Election Polls: Trumps Chances Of Winning Pennsylvania FadeJack Brewster

I'm a news reporter for Forbes.
A high quality poll out Tuesday found Joe Biden ahead by a large margin in the battleground state of Pennsylvania, a crucial state for President Trump to win if he wants a shot at being reelected, while other state polls released Tuesday show the Democratic nominee with a comfortable, steady lead a few weeks out from Election Day, with one exception. La Times: Polls 2020: Despite surprise news, a stable race with Trump behind in key states

We wont be able to fully gauge that for a few more days, but so far, one thing seems true: Theres no sign of a widespread sympathy vote for Trump. In a potential augur of things to come, surveys conducted by Morning Consult from Oct. 2-4 found a 9-point Biden lead his largest margin since late August, the polling firm said.
And a newly released CNN poll found that nearly two-thirds of voters, 63%, said Trump had been irresponsible in his handling of the risk of infection to people around him. Only 33% said he had acted responsibly.
The state-level impact of the presidents sickness, if one emerges at all, should start showing up in polls throughout this week.

(16,646 posts)Historically, people make their final decision in the last two weeks of October. Really, the vast majority will make it in the next 10 days. Early voting has made that even more true since many people will decide AND vote in the next 10 days. There isn't much Trump can do to clean this up over 10 days. Even the Russians probably can't. Barr might have something up his sleeve, but even that, at this point, might not be effective since so many voters would see it for exactly the desperate move it was.
