and after that Ted Kennedy died so Obama only had 40 days with a supermajority in the house and senate (60). He got Obamacare through but Mitch stopped him on anything and everything he could. Biden could well have an easier time. People might enjoy not being treated like marks and Biden could keep the supermajority after the midterms. These are different times. For sure Obama is responsible for changing things for the better. Obamacare is popular and has gotten people to like good government again. As have lgbtq rights and a host of other things. Biden is building on all that. The point is it is so sweet to have politicians who are about what is best for people.

If we eliminate the filibuster, Joe Biden could rival FDR and LBJ as one of America’s GREAT liberal presidents.

I am still pissed at Massachusetts for electing a Republican to Ted Kennedy’s seat and, thereby, depriving the party of 60 votes in the Senate, but in those 40 days we passed the Lily Ledbetter Act and the ACA (the latter of which was a major achievement). Otherwise, the Republicans blocked just about everything that we wanted to do.

The filibuster must go.

In 2016 while campaigning for Hillary it was v"ote for me to carry on my legacy "

Now it's more " it's not about me its about you and the country"

I dig it

He will have the benefit of knowing the job from day one, plus all those years in the Senate.

The Republicans were able to stop a lot of Obama's agenda. But if Trump loses and we get the Senate too, they won't be able to stop Biden.
