🚨BREAKING: hospitals in El Paso, #Texas are overwhelmed with #COVID19 patients, requiring patients to be airlifted to other hospitals in #Texas.

This is only just the beginning of this next, MASSIVE wave of #coronavirus infections.

And the Trump administrators has NO plan.🤬

Just In: El Paso patients to be airlifted to other hospitals in Texas. This is as hospitals say they’ve expanded within their brick & mortar as much as possible.

WBAMC says they cannot accept non-COVID patients.

This is going to be heard from many states, soon. Utah is already saying that it will be rationing ICU care. Younger patients will get priority, while older ones will, well, just die.

Thanks, Donwald!

They certainly aren't the patients in life flight helo's.

They also aren't the patients admitted unless very very sick.

Uncompensated care is exactly what ACA was intended to address. Insurance is about paying for services, not providing medical care. Too many uninsured patients with no means, and too many insurance companies finding loopholes to shift the cost after the fact to the patient. Usually patients without the means to pay.

Out of self defense, hospitals started turning away uninsured or discharging too early when insurers say cut them loose. People were dying through lack of care. We also lost quite a lot of hospitals all together in needy areas because they were losing so much money in the ER.

Now comes the pandemic. The aftermath of all this on the entire medical infrastructure will not be small. It was already under enormous stress.

Wheeling the red hats to the curve and pulling the plugs when the ICU's overfill.

Absolutely heartbreaking.
