In the path of Hurricane Zeta? Please check in when possible.

Everyone at DU is thinking of you!

This one missed me but a lot of other DUers are in Zeta's path.

Please check in and let us know how things are going (when you are able).

Give us a holler.

Thank you!

1. So when do we start adding additional names to the Hurricane list?

My pick after the Greek alphabet is the names of Egyptian gods.

Perhaps when tRump country gets torn up by Hurricane Anubis they might get a clue to do something about climate change.

2. The reason we have so many hurricanes is that we keep naming them.

If we stop with the naming, they'll go away like a miracle, right after the election.

5. NW Florida here. We're ok. Still blowing a gale.

It hasn’t been too bad compared to Sally. We still have power but it blipped off briefly. Came back on in a minute or two. I had a longer message but my wifi cut out and it was lost.

Wind is still gusting. 35-40 mph We keep hearing things that go bump in the night. Eekk.

So far, so good. We’re seasoned veterans to hurricanes so we’ll be ok. Thanks for the encouragement! We’ve had one tornado warning but it went east of us. Thank goodness for high tech radar so we can get down to street level warnings.

It’s moving very fast so will be gone from here by dawn. Look out ALABAMA, Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina! It’s headed your way!

I can take it for a few days but after 3-4 days it is not fun one bit.

going to be a lot of rain, some gusts...calling for power outages. I'll be doing my daily polling compilation report right about that time!

11. we will be dry and snug. pretty mild, so no need to use the gas logs if we lose power.

I will grind coffee in the morning in case we do lose it and it is out for some days (can't do without the morning French Press!).

Dogs will get muddy for their pee breaks - so what.

thanks! nothing for us will compare to Hur. Fran going over Raleigh in 1996 - a few hundred trees down, no power for a week - and really scary to hear the wind and the trees breaking and thumping down, the smell of pine....

... reported at the airport about 5 miles from us. The flying Sally debris that was still piled up in our yards/streets has made things interesting.

13. Yeah, flying debris is bad and adds insult to injury when it's leftover from the last hurricane.

Glad for the all good!

We still have a month to go until the season is over.
