A few things:

First, I want to say how exciting it is that Philly and it’s suburbs will be instrumental in Biden winning the Presidency. The suburbs in particular have metamorphosed over the last thirty years or so, evolving from a more or less RW bastion to a reliable politically well-educated surround , relatively speaking. Montgomery County in particular has evolved remarkably.

Second, the media has not really covered the fact that Biden is a favorite son here in SE PA. He has deep, very public ties to the a University of Pennsylvania and has been a constant presence in Philly for years now. He gave the Commencement address at Penn when he was VP and Franklin Field was packed with fans. I believe that that event plus the attendant publicity for weeks before and after it were responsible for his recently increased popularity in this region, in addition to his attentions to the area.

Third, I say this as a prequel: keep your eyes on Josh Shapiro, the AG of PA. This fellow is not only brilliant and extremely well-spoken, but he is shrewd and politically clever in the extreme. As an example, as a freshman state rep in the minority , he engineered the replacement of the Republican speaker of the State House with his hand-picked Republican alternative by shifting a few Republicans and allying all the Democrats, and dealt a real blow to the conservative establishment in our House. It was so remarkable that it took a few days for the import to sink in. I believe that he is key to PA going strong for Biden from a legal standpoint.

Fourth and finally, this crazy prick in the White House isn’t going to prevail because the establishment has had enough. This country is being threatened by several calamities at once and it is economically and societally destructive. He has cost the economy trillions of dollars and although the billionaires have in fact profited so far, that is about ready to stop when this pandemic is acknowledged to have exploded which, due to the imminent election, it has not been. The media can only carry one major story at a time. In two weeks there is going to be non-stop reportage of illness, business catastrophe, and death. There is no money in that. Or in a fiercely angry majority of individuals in the states that would be disenfranchised by an electoral theft.

Well done, and well said.

Everything hangs together and it all makes sense. It relieves my (anxious) mind.

PA has gotten so much play in the news for so long, but there was someone...guess it's Josh Shapiro, who is 6-0 with Republican shenanigans. Good to hear good...eye on the prize
