What is the deal with Alaska?

Alaska Likely Rep
Elec. Votes: 3 Updated: Nov 4 / 12:34 PM 56% In

Trump (R) 108,231 62.9%
Biden (D) 56,849 33%

........

No updates since November 4 ... and only 56% of votes counted?

Something doesn’t smell right.

James Carville said the other night that the Dem, Al Gross, just might win that senate seat for us. If that happens, we only need to win one of the GA runoffs in January to take the senate.

The Republican is up by 30 points with half the vote in. Does he really think the next half is going to completely reverse?

If you live in Lake Minchumina, population 12, it takes some time to get the records to civilization.

When I lived in Alaska in 1964 there were only 900 miles of paved roads in the state. And it’s a big state. My borough, or county, was bigger than Texas, for instance.

(Since I don’t feel like typing all that out again)

On edit: consider for a moment that some places are remote enough and small enough to not have enough people to operate as election officials that could transmit results even if the town had internet.

I’ve been to Alaska. I know how huge it is.

On the other hand, it IS the 21st century, and it’s been 4 days since the election. You would think they could have figured out how to get this done a little faster! I mean, only 50% of the vote has been counted and they haven’t updated in days. It would be a little easier to understand if the count had inched up some as days went by.

If you watch vet and survival shows out of Alaska, you'll find that much of Alaska is so remote nobody can drive in to their towns. That's what takes it so long to count votes.
