WASHINGTON Donald Trump may be leaving the White House but he's unlikely to be leaving public life.
Trump, who lost his bid for reelection Friday to Democrat Joe Biden, will continue to be a presence on the national stage, said friends and foes. What shape that takes from a role as a television personality to a candidate for office again remains to be seen.
Speculation has flown around for months about Trump's potential next steps, including reports that he may launch a television network or continue to headline the raucous rallies that have drawn supporters by the thousands. Whatever it is, allies said they expect Trump to try to exert influence over a Republican Party he has transformed since launching his first presidential run in 2015.
"He's going to continue to play a significant role in the Republican Party," said Rick Gates, an aide to Trump during his 2016 presidential campaign. Hell have that locked up for at least the next few years."

He'll be the voice for pissed off white guys. Never mind that he was born into wealth. He believes he's a perpetual victim.

(5,092 posts)relevant. But what are those rednecks and MAGATS gonna do? Vote for democrats? Nope. They will vote for whomever the republicans put up. Sure they'll stomp their feet and scream and pout. Then they will continue to vote for the next republican.

He will declare very early. Maybe even before he leaves office and lead the opposition to Joe.

(5,092 posts)Sure he likes the rallies and the adoring fans. What he doesn't like, all the scrutiny that has come along with it. In the beginning, he didn't get a lot of scrutiny, now its no holds barred. He's never going to be treated with kid gloves again. He's got too much dirt to hide. I predict he'll try to pull off one more grift and fool his supporters into giving him money, maybe even holding some rallies, then say, he'd be better off fighting for them from the outside.

(6,508 posts)will be saying "Trump who?". Yes, he'll still have many millions of Q-brains following him, but they won't be able to pawn their trailers off at high enough rates to keep him going.
He has no money or backing to start a new venture of any kind, into debt farther than probably anyone else, ever, he's going to be spending whatever he has left (if any) in court. And the Russians don't like loose ends.

(63,221 posts)Exactly. He's in debt up to his eyeballs and he's got nothing left to start up any new ventures. Nobody will lend money to him. He's a loser and people will desert him left and right. He's kryptonite. I think even his base will eventually drift away. The only reason people hung on to him was because he was in a position of power and now he isn't anymore. People will drop away like flies.
The thing is that everyone hates him and the only reason they kissed his ass was because they thought they could get something out of him or thier alliance with him. He is just a washed up one term loser. It's over for him.
