The Dalai Lama said in his congratulatory message to Biden: "Humanity places great hope in the democratic vision of the U.S. as leader of the free world."

The link above covers a number of global responses to the Biden/Harris victory. So far, the totalitarian regimes (Russia, China, Brazil, Turkey, and Iran) have been reticent to congratulate President-Elect Biden, whereas the rest of the world is, more-or-less, ecstatic to know that Democrats will be running the country again soon.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on Tuesday became the latest world leader to congratulate President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris, Reuters reported.

Erdoğan said in a statement that the Turkish government is "determin[ed] to work closely with the U.S. Administration" in the days ahead, according to the news service.

Biden has been a frequent critic of the Turkish president, calling him an "autocrat" and telling The New York Times editorial board that, as president, he would back opposition leadership "by the electoral process."

On the other hand, our South Korean allies, our REAL allies, are thrilled that Joe will soon be in charge:

South Korean President Moon Jae-in also posted a congratulatory weekend tweet before telling reporters Monday that he will work to "make sure that there won't be any vacuum in the strengthening of the South Korea-U.S. alliance and progress in the Korea peace process."

May the nation finally work EFFECTIVELY toward these aspirations.

His salutation is encouraging and congratulatory, but a little oblique. He is describing how others feel.

How do you like that? A Tibetan spiritual leader has a better grasp of the separation of church and state than Republicans.
