Vancouver BC is taking steps to follow Portugal's model.

If this plan makes it past the feds, which is by NO means certain, all drugs held for personal use would be decriminalized. This would create an official policy whereby drugs and addiction(s) would be officially a health care problem, and not a criminal issue.

there was extended coverage of Portugal's plan for dealing with the "War on Drugs" in a magazine (I'm thinking New Yorker). It indeed suggested these steps to work with the "War on Drugs."

Great success - a positive move for the nation.

Guess that would never pass in our "Christian" / RepubliCon country............

regulate and control all drugs just like any other commodity.

this is what a thinking society would do.
