(45,774 posts)A) Only a few minutes before you re-direct that child's attention away from his/her frustration. Or give a time-out.
B) Let the fire burn itself out, i.e., indefinitely until the child has finished his/her tantrum.
That's what I've always read.
Give in once, expect more and longer.

That is the takeaway from this travesty. They are answerable to the voters, and apparently these particular voters have no issue with failure to exercise oversight powers.
