Anti masking mother in law got diagnosed with covid

She was just admitted to the hospital today. 83 years old cops 5 stents and rheumatoid arthritis. She and 90% of the rest of my in-laws also positive after attending a pre wedding bowling party without wearing masks. Each and every one of them are Trump voters who think covid is overblown despite being positive. Hopefully with my mother in laws ER admission they will wake up. We are in Macon county Michigan where the hospitals are getting overrun. All could have been avoided!!!

You hope it won't end with people getting sick, but you know in your gut it's inevitable.

Sorry for your situation, but I am at a point where I can't really get too bothered by deniers getting Covid. What really sucks are the frontline healthcare workers getting burned out by this stupidity.

My advice to the deniers is to check yourself into a Hoax Hospital.

Nobody should have to quit a job and look for a new one because their employer is unreasonable. In any case let's hope that she doesn't get sick.

this fucking virus, fucking republicans, fucking trump.

she does sort of a specialized kind of work and loves her job. I might be thinking find a better job but wouldn't even suggest it to her.

But it doesn't stop that first impression. No mask? Don't believe in it? Well, reap what you sow, I guess.

And yeah, I feel awful for feeling that way, too. But I have a hard time feeling sympathy for wounds that are self-inflicted. ESPECIALLY when the individual knew better and STILL remained defiant.

I'm in Michigan too and never heard of Macon but then there are a lot of small towns I've never heard of.

If it's Macomb, there are way too many uneducated redneck trump humpers here.

My husband is unfortunately in business with his Trump loving virus denying brothers. The entire situation is ridiculous and could have been avoided. I do feel sorry for my husband as he has been telling them to put on a mask and stay away from his/their mother but it’s fallen on deaf ears. His mother is far from senile and just stubborn and a koolaid drinker. I hate to say this but I’m having a bit of trouble mustering up any sympathy for her

potentially exposing any number of hospital staff. She's taking up a badly needed bed because of her cult thinking. There are many innocent victims in this, and she isn't one of them.

My m-i-l is a cancer survivor for whom we fought tooth-and-nail to get her the treatment she needed after doctors told her no. She survived due to our belief in science and in fighting for what is right. And now she believes all the nonsense about Bill Gates funding the vaccine to track us and says she'll refuse the vaccine. I will refuse to see her in person then, but I know other members of the family will give in.

Tragic that so many were exposed and now sick because of people's stupidity.

I wish families of victims would start filing wrongful death suits against Trump, who inspired these idiotic actions with his criminally negligent behavior.

Maybe every obituary for a COVID death due to circumstances like this should list Trump as a contributing factor causing death.

Masks required signs everywhere. He was not wearing one while telling his friend he was positive. He said he attended a bonfire on Halloween and was talking to someone for 20 minutes and thinks that is how he got it. No mask of course. I steered my kids away from him.

I had my weekly video chat with my grown daughters, older mom 92 and my granddaughter 22 who is getting married next month at small wedding 20 people which I still think is wrong. She has been engaged for 2 years and originally it was set at Christmas so we could all have a big family Christmas together and come from all over. They are in CA, I was going to come from OR my daughter from Texas, my mom few hours away in CA. Now those 20 people are her mom, dad, friends and brother none of us are coming.

People just don't seem to get it until they are real sick and some not even then.
