They show an executive order as proof. Anyone could help me understand some of this? And where were these outraged people when tRump was trying to sweep the whole virus under the rug?

(22,236 posts)Cuomo has been doing such a good job and it's just a shame that someone went so far as accusing him of mass murder after he saved so many lives by being tough and doing the right thing.

On Fux. Why him all of a sudden? 🤷🏼?♀️
Maybe they think he wants to run for President. Start the smears early?

(11,694 posts)Nursing home, or SNFs are medical facilities. Looks like Cuomo was doing what was medically necessary at the time to clear up hospital beds for people who were acute. COVID is contagious and potentially deadly, but it can still be managed in a medical facility unless acute where specialized equipment is needed. Looks like Cuomo and the Dept. of Health were telling NHs that they needed to take people back once they were cleared and continue working with them using the best practice guidelines to keep them, staff, and other residents safe and healthy.
They are likely saying this because some news personalities are talking about Trump being guilty of negligent homicide.

(3,400 posts)Also note date of order, March 25. Very, very early in epidemic. Still learning about virus at that time and how to manage. Plenty of nursing homes across country had issues/lack of knowledge about virus resulting in needless loss of life. In Cuomos defense I dont see him as doing anything harmful deliberately. I dont think the same can be said for all governments in the States.

(1,654 posts)The nursing homes should have had precautions in place to isolate the patients transferred to their facilities to prevent spread to the healthy general population of the homes. He had to free up some space for the acute patients that were inundating the acute care hospitals.
This current blaming of Cuomo is more strident now that he is getting an award but I have been hearing it for over 6 weeks, especially as the national death toll kept skyrocketing while Trump was golfing and holding rallies and any criticism of the deaths on his watch I would start hearing whatabouts of Cuomo and comparing him to the holocaust, etc. Since I don't listen to RW radio I assumed they nudged out that idea first to protect their guy from criticism.
