a covid vaccine. He over bought. Way over 100 million doses. There are 40 million of us. Boosting everyone would require 80 million. I guess the excess can go to the world. Don't know who was responsible for doing that in the USA.

will probably be some data about which ones are better for which sub-populations... But prior to that everyone is just gonna take whatever they can get as soon as they can get it.

Since there are so many anti-vaxxers it is way better to get the 95% efficacy of either the Moderna or Pfizer/BioNTech vaccines.

Mrs. KatyMan here- (RN with 40 years experience)

There were two different delivery doses for this vaccine
full strength plus full strength one month later 60-62% effective
and
1/2 strength plus full strength one month later- 90% effective
also the delivery/transit system is much more cost effective- store in fridge
and it costs 3.00 dose.

This vaccine will likely be the one sent to developing countries because of the cost effectiveness and storage ease.

We will take whichever vaccine we can get first.....

Just FYI: The flu vaccine is generally about 60% effective
The shingles vaccine is about 50-75 % effective
pneumonia 60-80%

(as we see for the high dose influenza vaccine recommended over the routine vaccine for older persons) then that recommendation will be incorporated.

it's pretty simple, really, as far as I'm concerned. If people want to wait until the one they think they prefer shows up, that's fine. Me? I want to get vaccinated ASAP.

will offer good protection. The one developed in the UK does a lot better with the new dosage choice, apparently.

By the time there is one available to me, we'll have more information. I'll be lining up, in any case, mask on, to get my shots.
